Okay friends, long post ahead! Please read and share.
I’m sure most of you have seen that WNY will begin PHASE two tomorrow, June 2. With that, I am sure that you have also seen a lot of businesses announcing that they will be opening their doors tomorrow.
One thing we have learned during all of this, is that things change by the week, day and sometimes minute. Collectively, as an entire salon, we will begin calling and rescheduling appointments. {Unfortunately, Massage Therapy is not listed as a Phase Two business. Caryn will notify her clients and reschedule them when she gets the go ahead to do so.} Due to the amount of PPE that we are required to attain, the time it will take to reschedule all of our appointments and the mandatory COVID testing, we likely will not open until the beginning of next week. Each stylist will vary.
Last Friday NYS put forth guidelines that all salons will need to abide by. We have taken the time to go through all thirteen pages of rules and regulations, what is mandatory and what is strongly suggested, new rules and old.
The ones that need to be passed on to you, our guests are as follows:
• Our salon is thoroughly disinfected from head to toe with hospital grade disinfectants.
• We will be scheduling additional 15 minute increments between each appointment to disinfect our stations and all tools used. This means that we will not be able to see the same amount of guests in a day that we are accustomed to. {While we already did this, there are stricter precautions that need to take place}
• When we get the official clearance, YOUR stylist will contact you personally to set up your appointment. We have 10-11 weeks of clients to reschedule. Once they are rescheduled, we will then schedule everyone who has reached out and asked for an appointment in the meantime.
• No one is to enter the salon without an appointment. If you don’t have an appointment, and wish to be seen, you will be asked to call the salon at 585-593-5105.
• No one is to enter the salon without a facemask. {Unless you have a qualified medical condition or are under the age of 2} Please note that we will not be providing mask. If you are getting your hair colored, there is a chance that color can get on and stain your mask. Please take this into consideration and only wear a mask that is disposable or one that won’t bother you if it gets stained.
• You will be asked a series health screening questions before being brought to our stations. We will also ask you to sanitize your hands before sitting down.
• We are ONLY allowed to color, cut and style hair. THAT IS IT! No massage, waxing, beard trimming, manicures, pedicures, etc.
• Please arrive to your appointment on time. Not early, not late. We are only allowed so many people in the salon at a time. If you arrive early, you may be asked to wait in your car. If you arrive late, your appointment may be cancelled.
• Please come to your appointment by yourself. Again, we are limited on the number of people allowed in the salon at a time.
We are mandated to be tested for COVID19 on a biweekly basis, wear masks, protective eye gear and gloves during chemical services and to diligently wash our hands before and after each guest, which we will comply with. We know that this is a lot of information to take in and a lot of changes. It is for us to. We will do our best to make it seem like nothing has changed. We ask that everyone please be patient, and respectful of the current situation so things can go as smoothly as possible. We will see you all soon, and we CANNOT wait!
