The family of Robert Joseph Shuryn recently made a memorial donation to JMH in honor of Robert's legacy. This memorial will be used directly to improve access to diabetes screening, leading to better outcomes and improved quality of life.

Happy Retirement to Kerry Perese, NP! 🥳

Please join us in celebrating Kerry Perese, NP, who will be officially retiring on March 1. Kerry has served the JMH community for almost 10 years and has been in healthcare, serving this greater region for over 40 years.

Kerry has worked in various roles and capacities throughout her career, from acute care to emergency medicine, and has touched the lives of many patients. In 2022 she joined the Urgent Care team full time after several years of per diem - helping to expand the urgent care to a 10 hour/day schedule in 2024. We are grateful for her compassion, dedication and commitment to Jones and this community.

This week our associate spotlight shines on Boyd Chappell, Chief Financial Officer in the administration department. Boyd has been with The Jones for almost 4 years and says his favorite part of working at JMH is the people he works and interacts with on a daily basis. "The unity of the admin team is better than I've experienced at other facilities."

What inspired you to pursue working in healthcare?
I originally got into healthcare almost by accident. It wasn't something I had really considered. I have chosen to stay in rural healthcare because of the impact we get to make on our community

Do you have a favorite song, playlist or podcast to get you through your day?
I alternate between classic rock and more current alternative rock

Coffee or tea? Chocolate or vanilla? Early bird or night owl?
I don't drink coffee or tea, just crystal light flavored water. Yes to both chocolate and vanilla, and I'm definitely a night owl

Where can you be found outside of work?
When I'm not at work I'm either hanging out with my family and our dogs, golfing, or at the gym

What's your favorite local hot spot?
JB's Family Gym and Twin Hickory Golf Course

What's your dream vacation destination?
Island hopping in the South Pacific, Australia, and SE Asia

What's your go-to snack or comfort food during a busy day?
Cashews and anything chocolate

If you could meet one famous person, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Dwight D. Eisenhower. I've been fascinated with WWII since I was a kid and he played such a pivotal role in helping the Allies win the war.

What's one word your coworkers would use to describe you?
easygoing
