It has been 4 years yesterday 11/6 since I received my gift of life! I feel very blessed to be able to have this time with my family and am thankful for the opportunity to be here each and every day! I am thankful for the surgeons, medical staff, and especially the family and person who so generously gave me this gift of life! I know that there are many people still suffering and waiting for their donation. To those people I pray for their strength and encourage them to remain positive! My life has changed in the last 4 years as I look at things differently than I did before. To be given this second chance is the greatest blessing and I thank everyone for supporting me over the years! I get to wake up each day to watch my grandchildren grow and participate in baseball, hockey, football and dance! God bless you all!❤️

November 6th is a special day as it will be 3 years since I received the gift of life! Every day I am thankful for this gift, as it has changed my life! I look at the little things that happen and also the bigger things in life with difference. I am truly blessed to enjoy my family, my friends and my community. I know there are people that are battling their own life situations and I want to give hope to them that good things can happen! Be positive in everything you do. Try not to let every day problems over take you. Live life to the fullest because it truly is a gift! I appreciate all of the support and love shown by my family, friends and most of all God's blessing 🙏

I am on 2 1/2 years since my Liver Transplant . I have had some issues with regulating my rejection meds. But a few days of blood work and adjusting I am feeling good. Last one required a week in the Strong Hospital. Although It takes a toll on me as my energy is zap each day and correction to meds and my diabetes flair up I am so blessed. I am enjoying my family more than ever look at life in a different way. I still feel that God and my community made the difference, they prayed for me . My family was my guiding light. I can only be thankful of all the love they showed me . I ask you to pray for all the people that are suffering and are fighting a disease. Believe in God's powers and most of all believe in yourself. We live in a world that is evil at times and a world where we can all live in together. Thanks for your continued prayers and pray for others.

Our dad received a call this afternoon from Strong letting him know they have a deceased liver that is a match. He is currently at the hospital prepping for a 10:00pm liver transplant. Please pray that the liver is determined 100% compatible, pray for the family that just lost a loved one and is giving a gift of life to our dad and for a successful surgery and transplant. We should know more in the coming hours.

Update ❤️

While Strong continues to work up potential live liver donors for Al….we have also reached out to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center!!! UPMC is the #1 hospital in the country for live liver donation-they do over 100 per year, and they have some different qualifications for donors that might be beneficial to Al getting a liver sooner 🙏

This by no means stops any of the progress that Strong has been doing, he will continue his care in Rochester, they will continue to work up any donors that have called their hotline, and he will remain listed on the liver transplant list within U of R’s region!!

What this does mean-is that we have a wider region to be listed for a deceased donor as he will be listed in Pittsburgh region AND the Rochester region!!!!! It also will allow people who would like to donate but may have been turned away for one reason or another potentially be able to still help!!! This may include a difference in BMI, height and even potentially someone with a different blood type may be able to donate part of their liver to Al as UPMC has some different criteria!!!

This is exciting news, as we heard today that Al will be being evaluated by their team at UPMC the beginning of November 🙏🙏

If you are interested in still being a donor for Al-we ask that you also contact UPMC’s live liver donation program to be evaluated by their hospital. This is seperate from the Strong hotline previously. (You can also continue to call the Strong Hotline). You will be required to travel to Pittsburgh for the evaluation if found to be a good recipient, and they work with you to schedule the surgery for an optimal time that works! They will assist with travel and housing while there!!!❤️❤️

Just wanted to give an update 🙂

As many people had heard, last week Al was hospitalized for a GI bleed! He is home
and recovering well!!! ❤️🙏

We are still in the process of looking for a live liver donor so please continue to share and like this page to spread the word! You may continue to call the hotline if you are interested in being his live donor! They are working through all the individual calls to find the best fit 🙏

We appreciate each and every one of you and all of your support for our family ❤️
