Alatheia empowers individuals through Equine Assisted Services in North Central Washington. Join us in transforming lives with our Norwegian Fjord horses.

We offer therapeutic riding, veteran support, and life/work skills for adults with disabilities. Alatheia Riding Center changes lives with the healing power of horses. Since 2011 we have served children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities and veterans from four North Central Washington Counties. Alatheia exclusively uses beautiful and gentle Norwegian Fjord horses, trained instructors and a dedicated team of volunteers to provide services. We are a member center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International.

Inclusive Baseball This Spring! ⚾️

Eastmont Youth Baseball is offering Bambino Buddy-Ball for children to young adults with disabilities this coming spring!

The Bambino Buddy-Ball division is all about inclusion, teamwork, and fun. Athletes of all abilities will learn the fundamentals of baseball in a supportive, encouraging environment where everyone gets to play.

Bone cold arena. Full hearts. Absolute champions. 🐴❤️

Today, our Ranch Hands showed up and showed us what courage really looks like at Alatheia.

Some rode with us for the very first time.
Some climbed aboard a horse they had never met before. Some faced the cold head on.
Some faced lingering fears of horses.
Some rode with beautiful posture, confidently directing their horse. And some completed the entire arena course completely on their own.

Every single Ranch Hand met today exactly where they were and chose bravery anyway. That is something to celebrate.

None of this happens without the most incredible volunteers and staff. In freezing temperatures, they showed up with patience, encouragement, laughter, and deep care. They turned a cold winter day into something truly special and deeply human.

Today is a great day. A proud day. A Ranch Hands kind of day. Thank you everyone!

On these cold winter days, it’s especially inspiring to see the dedication happening in our arena. ❄️🐴
Our instructor Stef Archibald is fully committed to working on her CTRI credentialing, spending focused time training and learning alongside her favorite Fjord, Marta.
Watching Stef invest in her growth as an instructor ultimately means a deeper impact for the riders we serve. Keep going Stef. You’ve got this!

🎨 Call for Artists | Courageously Created 2026
Artists are invited to submit original work for Courageously Created, a juried Fine Art Show & Auction benefiting Alatheia Therapeutic Riding Center. This in-person event will take place April 25–26, 2026, at Alatheia’s new arena in Wenatchee, WA.

This show celebrates courage, creativity, and community while raising funds to complete Alatheia’s capital expansion project, doubling capacity and eliminating the waitlist for life-changing equine-assisted programs serving children, adults, Veterans, and first responders.

All subject matter, genres, and styles are welcome. Cash awards will be presented to first, second, and third place, along with honorable mentions.

Today is the last day to give through the Give NCW campaign, and we are closing with two people who show the true heart of Alatheia.
Casey rides each week while living with Down syndrome and autism. Riding helps him build strength, balance, and confidence. Emily is one of our fiercely loyal volunteers who gives steady support in the arena with kindness, strength, and care. What happens here reaches beyond the arena. While Casey rides, his mom spends time with another mom. They bond, breathe, and find support in each other. Our therapeutic riding program touches the rider, the volunteer, and the families we serve. And we are grateful for that.

Before a single lesson begins, our Fjords receive gold-standard care. Daily grain, minerals, quality hay and fresh water. Daily turnout and movement, including pasture time as a herd. Hoof care from skilled farriers. Regular vet checks, vaccines, dental, and bodywork. Properly fitted tack and calm, consistent handling. This is what makes safe, effective lessons possible for riders with disabilities and for Veterans and First Responders.

Warriors and Horses is a steady place for Veterans and First Responders to connect, breathe, and rebuild trust. Sessions are confidential and guided by a licensed therapist with an equine specialist and our intuitive therapy horses.
We have watched participants arrive carrying heavy stress and anxiety, and leave standing taller after quiet time at a horse’s shoulder.
