This little cutie patootie, with her giant toothless grin, may be small but she is mighty!
Julian wrapped up her last ride of the season on her horse Julle. It’s impossible not to smile on a brisk fall morning when you see Julian’s joy shining so brightly. 🐴💗

Honoring Our Veterans Today

To the Veterans who have walked into our arena through Warriors & Horses, and to all who have served, we see you and we thank you. Your courage, your sacrifice, and your willingness to keep showing up, even on the hard days, inspires us more than you know.

It is our privilege to stand beside you, to witness your strength, and to offer a place where healing, connection, and hope can grow. Today and every day, we honor you with deep gratitude.

Thank you for your service. 🇺🇸

It is unbelievable how close this Alatheia community feels. Each week we are reminded what a privilege it is to walk alongside our riders and Ranch Hands. As the riding season nears its season’s end, we cannot help but celebrate the confidence, joy, and growth that fill the arena. 🐴❤️
Their courage and hard work inspire everyone here. This community is something truly special, and we are grateful for every person who is part of it.

Emily absolutely shined in our end of the year horse show. She rode Johan through the cones course unclipped, tuning in to every cue from her Riding Instructor Jill Allemandi, even when Jill mixed up her lefts and rights and kept us all laughing.
Riding blind takes a level of courage most people can’t even imagine, and watching Emily guide Johan with so much trust and presence is a powerful thing to witness. Awarding her ribbon held layers of meaning for all of us at Alatheia. Emily shows us what strength and heart look like, and we are so proud of her. 🐴💫

Some moments in the arena can bring you to good tears. During Yu’s lesson this week, we captured the most extraordinary smile from him. It was pure, joyful, and so rare to witness that it felt like the whole arena paused.

Yu has grown so much this season, both in confidence and in the saddle, with the steady guidance of his instructor, Anne Marasa. The ribbon ceremony photos are powerful in their own way, showing his usual calm and serious expression. But the smile that came during his lesson was the moment that moved his entire team!

On this same day, Yu also tossed a ball to our Executive Director, Nancy Grette, and he absolutely nailed it. 👏🏼

It was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do at Alatheia. Quiet victories. Moments of connection. The kind of breakthroughs that speak straight to the heart. We are so proud of you, Yu. 🐴❤️

It’s true, our riders light up the arena!
Despite the drizzle outside, riders Lani and Emma brought their smiles and joint efforts to our annual Alatheia Horse Show this week! Partnered with our steady Fjords Bjorn and Else Mae, these two made the most of every moment during this new fall weather. Watching their confidence and connection with our horses grow over this past year is worthy of a beautiful ribbon. 🐴❤️

If you need a feel-good Monday, meet Ronald!
Ronald is one of our younger riders whose journey has been such a joy to watch. After waiting patiently on our list, this season became his moment to shine and grow. He shows up each week eager to improve, full of enthusiasm, and ready to take on every challenge with a big smile.
He’s a true go-getter and recently got to present his sister Aurora and her riding partner Ahava with their end of season ribbons.
We couldn’t adore him more. He’s so stinkin’ cute and reminds us all why we do what we do! 🐴❤️

What an evening!

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Sunset on the Columbia – Chris Ward Concert. It was such a joy to share a fun night together overlooking the Columbia River, with just a wee bit of smoke making the sunset all the more dramatic.

We are deeply grateful to our amazing volunteers and staff who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the night run smoothly. A huge thank you to Chris Ward for his incredible generosity in giving us such a memorable concert. And our heartfelt gratitude to Mona and Jeff Guentzel for opening their beautiful home and property so this special evening could happen.

It was a truly beautiful night of community, generosity, and friendship.

This special night was made possible because guests purchased concert tickets at our 2024 Run for the Roses Gala live auction. If you haven’t yet secured your 2025 Gala tickets, now is the time! Opportunities like this concert, and many more memorable experiences, are waiting for you! https://alatheiaridingcenter.com/gala-landing-2/

We’ve had two wonderful experiences with our Ranch Hands participants over break week!

The week kicked off with rides on some of our amazing Fjord horses. Everyone was all smiles, especially Chloe, who continues to make incredible progress conquering her fear of riding. This time, she showed no fear at all and it was such a joy to see!

Today we gathered again for a horse safety training, led by our new Volunteer Coordinator, Stef Archibald. Stef guided the Ranch Hands through important safety practices and equine learning, empowering them with new skills and confidence around the horses.

It’s been a fantastic week filled with growth, courage, and connection. A huge thank you to our staff and volunteers who made these special mornings possible for the Ranch Hands. 🐴❤️

We wrapped up our “Sips & Saddles” Patio Party series for the summer with such a great evening! We’ve loved the opportunity to connect with guests, share about our three pillar programs, let them watch a riding lesson in action, and give them a sneak peek of our new facility under construction.

If you want to attend one of our private patio parties in the future, join us at our Annual Gala on Saturday, October 4, and bid on one during our live auction. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a special night at Alatheia while supporting our mission.
