Alatheia Riding Center

Alatheia Riding Center Alatheia empowers individuals through Equine Assisted Services in North Central Washington. Join us in transforming lives with our Norwegian Fjord horses.

We offer therapeutic riding, veteran support, and life/work skills for adults with disabilities. Alatheia Riding Center changes lives with the healing power of horses. Since 2011 we have served children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities and veterans from four North Central Washington Counties. Alatheia exclusively uses beautiful and gentle Norwegian Fjord horses, trained instructors and a dedicated team of volunteers to provide services. We are a member center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International.

A heartfelt thank you to The Wenatchee World, NCW Life, and the entire Wenatchee Valley community for choosing Nancy Grette and Alatheia Therapeutic Riding Center as recipients of the 2026 Community Connection Award at the Community Impact Awards. It is a true honor.

The heart and soul of Alatheia is our riders and participants, our incredible volunteers and staff, and our majestic Fjord therapy horses who make healing possible every single day.

Thank you, community. There is no better place than here to call home! 🐴❤️

As we gear up for the start of our Spring Session soon for our Therapeutic Riding program, one of the most important pieces of preparation is training and refresher training for our incredible volunteers.

Yesterday, our Volunteer Coordinator, Stef Archibald, facilitated a Lead Walker training with a wonderful group of volunteers. It was so nice to see their faces back at the arena as we prepare for the 2026 season.

Our volunteers are an essential part of every ride, helping create a safe, supportive, and empowering experience for our participants. We are grateful for the time they invest to stay trained and ready to serve our riders this spring.

22 incredible missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints traveled to serve at our new facility alongside Mr. Glenn and Smitty, helping move 5+ tons of rock. 💪🏼

Alatheia is powered by volunteers and moments like this remind us it truly takes a village.

Thank you to these wonderful missionaries and to Bonnie and Leon Grant for making it happen.

We are incredibly grateful to the 22 amazing missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who traveled as far away as Yakima to lend a hand at our new facility, currently under construction. Alongside Mr. Glenn and Smitty, they helped move more than 5 tons of rock. 💪🏼 It was no small task and they showed up with a willingness to serve.

Alatheia is absolutely powered by volunteers. In moments like this, we are reminded that it truly takes a village to bring this vision to life.

A heartfelt thank you to these wonderful missionaries and to Bonnie and Leon Grant for helping make this happen.

Tomorrow, our incredible Ranch Hand Harli is heading into knee surgery and we would love to surround her with all the encouragement our Alatheia community can offer. With her mom’s blessing, we are sharing that Harli has Kabuki Syndrome with Autism, a rare genetic condition that often includes joint laxity. This means the ligaments that support the joints can be looser than typical, leading to joint instability, fatigue, injuries, and sometimes the need for surgical support like the one Harli is bravely facing.

Harli is truly a medical warrior. And she has truly become a leader within our Ranch Hands program. Navigating Kabuki Syndrome often means years of appointments, and therapies, but for the most part she hasn’t let that slow her down. She keeps going!

If you are so inclined, please send Harli a message of encouragement as she heads into surgery tomorrow. We are cheering you on, Harli. Your Ranch Hands team loves you and we cannot wait to welcome you back to the barn when you are ready. 🙏🏼🐴🫶🏼

The Ranch Hands swapped things up today and spent a cold but wonderful morning at the new arena helping Mr. Glenn with some late winter cleanup. From the moment they arrived, it was all hands on deck. Tasks were tackled, and their teamwork was awesome!

Thank you to our Ranch Hands for showing up, and making the most of the morning together.

What a joyful morning at our Ranch Hands Valentine’s Party!

We were all in awe as local magician Jason Sims amazed us with his magic. We had wide eyed looks of wonder, and a few “how did he do that?” moments. So much fun.

We are so grateful for each and every Ranch Hand. You make Alatheia shine.

Alatheia’s Ranch Hands recently had a wonderful opportunity to share their roles at the barn with an amazing group of SkillSource participants.

They gave a tour of our facilities, introduced our beloved Fjord herd, and talked about what they love most about being a Ranch Hand. From daily chores to caring for the horses, they proudly shared the meaningful work they do each week.

The group of young adults from SkillSource left knowing a little more about Alatheia, our mission, and the heart behind our programs. Even more special, they left having connected with some incredible Ranch Hands who represent the spirit of our community so beautifully. SkillSource WA
