Jones & Jones-Betts Funeral Home

Jones & Jones-Betts Funeral Home Jones & Jones-Betts Funeral Home Jones & Jones Funeral Home and Betts Funeral Service were merged in September of 2007.

Jones & Jones was originally founded by D.W. Jones in Coulee City in 1903 before he and his wife established a permanent Wenatchee funeral home in 1914. Betts Funeral Service was established in 1948 and has always been locally owned. The purchase by the Precht family, owner of Betts since 1985, returned Jones & Jones to local ownership after a dozen years as a part of a large international corporation. The Precht family has been in the funeral business since 1940. A staff of caring professional funeral service providers have made Jones & Jones~Betts "the thoughtful choice." Jones & Jones~Betts serves all faiths, providing local, statewide, national and international service to cemeteries and mausoleums. Jones & Jones-Betts Funeral Home's facility features the largest chapel of any North Central Washington funeral provider. The classic Tudor style architecture of the home, and nicely decorated interior, gives loved ones a comforting environment. Abundant on-site parking provides added convenience for family and friends who attend services.

Today, we mark the passing of the humble penny, a small copper icon that has served generations for more than 232 years.

Born in 1793, the penny has been a silent witness to the growth of a nation, quietly circulating through millions of hands, pockets, jars, and wishing fountains. It has carried grocery lists, good luck, first jobs' paychecks, and countless “find a penny, pick it up” moments.

Though often taken for granted, the penny has remained a constant presence in everyday life, reminding us that even the smallest things have value.

As it retires from circulation in 2025, we pay tribute to this small coin with a lasting impact.

May it forever hold a place in our change jars, memories, and childhood piggy banks.

Memories live on, even when a loved one’s belongings remain behind.
While many practical matters require attention after a loss, deciding what to keep and what to let go can stir deep emotions — especially in the early days of grief.

Consider this thoughtful approach:

👉🏽Gather belongings in one place. Create space to see everything together.

👉🏽Include family members. Decide who will take part in sorting and reflecting.

👉🏽Take your time. Focus first on immediate needs before making lasting decisions.

👉🏽Honor their memory. Keep the photos and items that best capture their spirit and love.

👉🏽Share comfort. Offer meaningful photographs or mementos to others who cherished your loved one.

🫶The process can be tender, but through it, memories become shared stories — and love continues to live on.
