Growing up the youngest of seven children, Mo was always trying to catch up to her siblings. As avid runner and cyclist, she turned to Pilates after an injury in 2008. Moira's fitness training began with STOTT Pilates in MAT, Reformer, & Injuries/Special Precautions as well as other Pilates workshops. She also "learned the ropes" of TRX for both group and personal training and is Barre, Spinning, KickboxingForLife and RIPPED certified. She carries AFAA Group Exercise and Personal Training certifications & Precision Nutrition Coach certification. Moira works individually to help people come out of injuries strong and/or stay fit and keep moving! Her background in sales gives her the experience to connect with all types of people. She is a busy Mom to four children, which allows for the compassion and understanding to encourage and support clients the right way. Mo rides in the PanMass Challenge every year, volunteered in many school events, including managing two auctions, raising money for the sidewalk committee for five years, & organized a children's camp for four summers. Moira's slogan is "Keep the Peace Within You" and she has her own website, www.moirasfitness.com… where she offers Beautycounter safer skincare & Scout and Cellar clean crafted wine! Mo happily shares good ideas, including her favorite recipes! When she's not teaching fitness, talking about wellness, or coming up with new exercise moves…you can catch her walking her dog, Rudi, at Appleton Farms or Singing Beach. She loves people, parties, and a tall Starbucks coffee.

Years ago a client shared a National Geographic article on the history of sugar & how it’s “more addictive than drugs,” & how it’s infiltrated the American diet. As we approach Halloween...here is a synopsis from the article — SEVEN REASONS to



1. SUGAR IS ADDICTIVE...Sugar stimulates the release of dopamine, a “feel-good” chemical in the brain. Treat candy & sugar like a spice....a little goes a long way. Once a week not every day kinda thing.;)



2. SUGAR DAMAGES YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM.... Sugar is considered empty calories. Nourish your body with whole & clean foods if you want your body to work for you. (is it a coincidence that we enter cold & flu season shortly after Halloween?!)



3. SUGAR ROBS YOUR BODY OF ESSENTIAL MINERALS & HINDERS LIVER FUNCTIONING.



4. SUGAR CAUSES INSULIN RESISTANCE, DIABETES, AND WEIGHT GAIN.



5. SUGAR CAUSES PREMATURE AGING...Sugar can negatively impact skin elasticity....leading to more wrinkles. Eating more greens leads to clearer skin.



6. SUGAR LEADS TO DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, CHRONIC FATIGUE, IRRITABILITY, AND MOOD SWINGS...Consuming sugar leads to a spike in both blood sugar and feel-good serotonin levels but it’s short-lived. Watch out for a “crash.” & stronger cravings!



7. SUGAR INCREASES HYPERACTIVITY IN CHILDREN...Any Mom has witnessed this!! Consider more kid friendly gluten free snacks to help avoid this.
