Powerful movements. POWERFUL impact!! 💥🙌🏼
Our PEP class is putting in the work across a variety of movements—all with a BIG focus. Using PWR! Principles, we emphasize large amplitude movements to help counteract the smaller, slower patterns that can come with Parkinson’s.

From sit-to-stands🪑,to stepping🦵🏼, reaching🤚🏼, and posture resets, every rep is intentional: move bigger, stand taller, and build power💪🏽These exaggerated movements translate directly into everyday life—helping with walking, balance, and getting up and down with more ease and confidence. 👏🏼

For those with Parkinson’s, training BIG isn’t just exercise—it’s a way to improve mobility, maintain independence, and reduce fall risk.

Progress happens through consistency. Keep persevering!

8–12 reps = the sweet spot 💪🏽🏋🏽

Why? Because this range lets you lift heavy enough to actually build strength and muscle, without going so heavy that your form breaks down or your injury risk spikes.⚠️

In that 8–12 window you get:
✔️ Optimal strength + hypertrophy stimulus
✔️ Better control and cleaner movement quality
✔️ Reduced risk of overload and injury

At the Center, this is a principle we use every day with our clients, members, and patients—helping them lift safely, build real strength, and move with confidence ✨👏🏼

It’s not about lifting the most weight — it’s about lifting the right weight, with intention.

If your last few reps feel challenging but still look solid, you’re right where you should be 👍🏼

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, but it also impacts so much more: mood, cognition, energy levels, and overall quality of life.

That’s why treatment has to go beyond a single focus. The most effective approach is multi-factorial, supporting the whole person:
✨ Lifestyle habits
💊 Medication management
🥗 Nutrition
🏋️ Exercise
🧠 Mood & mental health

Exercise, in particular, is one of the most powerful tools we have, and research highlights 4 key domains:
🔥 Aerobic training (especially HIIT) to support brain health and neuroplasticity
⚖️ Balance training to reduce fall risk and improve confidence
💪 Resistance training to maintain strength and independence
🧘 Stretching & mobility to decrease stiffness and improve movement quality
➡️➡️Swipe to see a helpful tool we created to guide an exercise program!

While Parkinson’s is progressive, the right combination of interventions can help slow functional decline, improve daily performance, and keep people doing what they love longer♥️

It’s not about perfection—it’s about consistency, community, and treating the whole person.🙌🏼

Muscle atrophy, or clinically known as sarcopenia, isn’t just something that happens “with age” — it can begin in less than ONE week of inactivity.

When a muscle-building stimulus isn’t present often enough, muscles gradually shrink and weaken; this process is called muscle atrophy.

💪🏼And an important myth to clear up: muscle does NOT turn into fat.
When a muscle isn’t used, the proteins that make it up are simply redirected and used elsewhere in the body.

🧓🏾👴🏼For older adults, muscle loss can lead to decreased strength, reduced mobility, balance issues, and a higher risk of falls. But the good news? It’s preventable, and even reversible, with the right plan

At CBMW, our Wellness Team focuses on 3 key pillars:
✔️ Train – Guided resistance training 2–3x/week to maintain and build strength🏋🏽
✔️ Eat – Proper protein intake to support muscle repair and growth🍗
✔️ Recover – Prioritizing rest so your body can rebuild😴

Consistency is key🔑 - and that’s where we come in. Our specialized exercise programs for geriatrics are designed to keep you safe, progressing, and strong for the long run.

Whether you’re restarting your fitness journey or maintaining independence, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month 🧠👤💙
Concussions aren’t always obvious. Many symptoms are invisible—like brain fog, headaches, dizziness, light sensitivity, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating. Just because it isn’t seen, doesn’t mean it isn’t real.

At CBMW, we take a multi-factorial approach to concussion care. That means we don’t just look at one symptom, we assess and treat the whole picture: neurological function, vestibular and visual systems, neck and body function, and more. Every brain injury is different, so every recovery plan should be too.

Awareness starts with understanding.
✔️ Take symptoms seriously
✔️ Seek proper evaluation from skilled clinicians
✔️ Support those who are healing

Let’s break the stigma around “invisible” injuries and advocate for better care and recovery 💬🫶🏼 Swipe for graphics to repost on your story & spread awareness!
