Holy Family Services is the longest licensed free-standing birth center in Texas! Founded in 1983 by four Catholic sisters, we strive to uphold their mission by continuing to provide safe and affordable family-centered maternity care to families in the Rio Grande Valley. Here at Holy Family, full-scope prenatal care, labor/delivery, water birth, postpartum and newborn care is provided by Certified-Nurse Midwives, in addition to general well-woman care and exams. CASH, MEDICAID/CHIPS, AND MOST PRIVATE INSURANCES ACCEPTED! Even if we are "out-of-network" we can work with your insurance to make an exception for "in-network" care. Please call our office for more information.

Our food pantry shelves are completely empty again. This isn’t the first time we’ve had to close—but it breaks our hearts every single time. 💔

We’ve been closed all week because we simply don’t have enough food or funds to serve the families who depend on us. Each day, people come by hoping for help, and we have to turn them away.

We need our community now more than ever.

🍞 How you can help right now:

Donate food: Non-perishable items like rice, beans, canned goods, pasta, peanut butter, and cereal.

Donate funds: Every dollar helps us restock and reopen our doors.

Are you a midwife with a heart for service? We have an immediate opening for a full-time midwife (CNM or CPM). New grads are welcome to apply too! We are looking for a midwife with a strong desire to be in an out-of-hospital setting.

We average 10-15 births a month. We have a busy clinic which is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also have a CNM fellowship program so there is a mentoring component to this position.

We have onsite communal housing available for those interested.

* 1-2 weekdays of 24 hour call coverage
* 1-2 days in clinic (1 day of call and clinic are on same day)
* 1 weekend a month (48 hour call)
* Generous PTO
* Malpractice insurance included
* HRSA designated site for those seeking loan forgiveness
* Spanish speaking a plus but not required

Our Story

Holy Family Services is the longest licensed free-standing birth center in Texas! Founded in 1983 by four Catholic sisters, we strive to uphold their mission by continuing to provide safe and affordable family-centered maternity care to families in the Rio Grande Valley. Here at Holy Family, full-scope prenatal care, labor/delivery, water birth, postpartum and newborn care is provided by Certified-Nurse Midwives, in addition to general well-woman care and gynecologic exams.

We promote physiologic labor that is family-centered and prioritizes the mother-baby dyad. We encouraged freedom of movement with non - “tethered” labor, oral intake during labor, and minimize separation of the infant and mother after delivery.

Flexible payment plans are available. CASH, MEDICAID/CHIPS, AND MOST PRIVATE INSURANCES ACCEPTED! Even if we are "out-of-network" we can work with your insurance to make an exception for "in-network" care. Please call our office for more information.
