Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN) is a very common, benign skin condition that appears as tiny brown or black spots, most often on the cheeks, temples, and around the eyes. It’s especially common in patients with darker skin tones and is completely non-cancerous, but many people choose to remove them for cosmetic reasons.
One of the ways we treat DPN in-office is with gentle cauterization. This technique uses controlled heat to precisely remove the lesion while protecting the surrounding skin. The treatment is quick and typically requires minimal downtime.
If those little spots have been bothering you, know that safe and effective options are available. Schedule a consultation and let’s talk about what’s right for your skin.
