Did you know you have options for the position you labor and birth in? Most women think they have to be confined to a bed in labor & birth.

Using positions that allow the assistance of gravity during your labor can help facilitate your birth. Knowing how to properly breathe and push in 3-5 positions allows you many options. The key is building the endurance to be able to sustain positions.

In my PELVIC FLOOR LABOR & BIRTH PREP sessions you will learn:
-Pelvic floor anatomy and functions
-How to properly breathe with labor & birth
-Labor &Birth positions
-Perineal Massage
-Safe stretches for pelvic floor
-Postpartum recovery
and more

Check out my website for details on my BIRTH PREP sessions, I offer in-person, online and virtual live options. These sessions are optimal at 22-24 weeks pregnant.

These are the products I recommend for Postpartum Mama's to help with healing and recovery "down there".

1. The peribottle is AMAZING. You can put some of the sitz bath herbs in it and make it warm or cool to soothe "down there" when you p*e or poop.
2. Padiscles are A-MAZING, it is what it sounds like a pad that is frozen or cold. Using the sitz bath herbs you can make them. You literally make the herbs like tea and then poor the water over the pad and freeze. This helps with swelling, healing, pain management the first 3-4 days.
3. The sitz bath product can be used in a sitzbath. A sitz bath is literally a mini bath for "down there". It sets int he toilet and you sit on it with the herbs in it. It is great for healing, swelling and pain relief, recommended after day 4.
4. The Mama Boost is a wonderful supplement for Postpartum, it is safe for breasting Mama's and easy to take, just pour the powder in your water and drink away. I love it because it has thiamine for sleep & memory, Zinc for immune support & healing, B vitamins & folate for energy, mental clarity & decreasing fatigue.
5. Postpartum Leggings or underwear are highly recommended. offers progressive compression, this helps swelling/circulation, compression promotes healing, helps give support to the pelvic floor, abdominals and low back.
6. is one of my personal favorites. It is a non-chemical feminine wash. The environment is very delicate down there. No chemicals is important while breast feeding but also for your overall health. The foam wash is my favorite. Since you will be bleeding for up to 4 weeks postpartum you want to ensure you have a gentle wash to clean down there.

This post is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by any of the above brands listed. These are all brands I recommend because I personally believe in the quality of the products. Consult with your birth provider for clearance of use of these products.

If you want to learn more details on postpartum recovery, check out my birth prep sessions.

Birth Preparation is key. I like to think of Birth as an athletic event. You would never show up to an athletic event without the proper training, would you?
Many women have no idea there are things to be done in the 2nd trimester to begin to prepare their body for their "birth day".

Some of my favorite things to teach about birth prep include:
1. Proper breathing in labor and birth is key. Yes, your breathe can significantly impact your birth. It can decrease risk for tearing "down there", conserve energy and aid in the descend and birth of your baby.
2. Birth positions and breathing are key. You have options for your positions in labor and birth. The key is to have endurance to maintain the positions and be able to breathe efficiently in the positions.
3. Perineal massage is a technique that can begin at 34 weeks as long as your birth provider clears you. IT is what it sounds like a massage of the perineum (the tissue between your va**na and butt hole). This decreases your risk for tearing during birth.
4. Relaxation of the pelvic floor is key in your labor and birth, learning to let go "down there" is so important. Stretching the pelvic floor can be beneficial.
5. Postpartum recovery is so important. There are certain products that can help with pain management, healing, swelling and quality of life. How you heal can significant impact your pelvic health when you are 60.

These are just a few Birth Prep Tips. I offer Pelvic Floor Birth Prep for all birthing methods-va**nal, VBAC and cesarean. It is my hope you learn how to BIRTH SMARTER, NOT HARDER.
Check out my website for more details on in-person, virtual live or on demand sessions.

Yes, it is true you can prepare your body for birth. Of course, we can never plan out how our birth will go. However, we can prepare our pelvis and pelvic floor and body. What I mean bu this is knowing optimal birth positions, breathing and practicing them throughout your pregnancy. You can create endurance for the positions, muscle memory and also provide yourself during your pregnancy with decreased risk of aches and pains because you are moving.

My pelvic floor birth prep sessions are a wealth of knowledge. It includes:
-Labor & birth breathing
-Labor & birth positions
-Props that can be used in birth (water birth, balls, rebozo)
-Perineal massage
-Pelvic Floor function and anatomy
-Postpartum recovery & healing
-How to p*e & poo after birth
-Products that are organic for healing

I offer in-person, virtual live and an on demand course. It is my goal you feel empowered and ready for your birth. DM me for questions.

The deep squat position is a great position for 3rd trimester Mama's. However it should not be performed if you have pain or pelvic organ prolapse.

So ladies drop it low, because this position
-Lengthens/relaxes the pelvic floor muscles which allows baby to descend into an optimal position in the birth canal.
-Builds endurance for sustained stretch of the hips joints and muscles
-Stretches the pelvic floor, va**nal opening and perineum to decrease risk for tearing "down there"
-This position has many ways to be modified, you can sit on a yoga block, use a rebozo to name a few.

It's recommended to perform 1-2 minute holds with slow diaphragm breathing to help lengthen pelvic floor muscles.

If you would like more information on how to prepare for birth, DM. I offer many options for birth preparation sessions.
