Here at RAD, we are incredibly thankful for another year full of learning, growing and most importantly, being together!
It was a year full of lessons, from math, to science, to writing, reading, cooking, job skills, self-advocacy and everything in between!
Participants continued their service learning work and raised funds to purchase a universal changing table for the Rec Center, an important step in creating inclusive spaces for everyone who uses our building.
This year also brought special advocacy opportunities. We were honored to welcome Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez and State Rep. Karen Krisch to RAD to talk about the importance of programs supported by Medicaid funding. Later in the year, State Rep. Robyn Vining visited to see our new Universal Changing Table and learn more about the advocacy efforts behind making our Rec Center more accessible for our community.
We welcomed new participants into our program this year and continued building opportunities that support our learning, independence and connection with our community.
We continue to meet so many new members from our community through our events, Cafe RAD, RAD Jobs, walking on the track and the everyday moments where our participants engage with the community around them.
At RAD, we learn, grow, stay active and support one another. None of this would be possible without our families, our Rec Department, our volunteers, our partners and our community who show up for us in so many ways.
RAD is not only a program for our participants. It is a program for our community, a space where learning and inclusion come together.
You help make us RAD each and every day. Thank you for being part of this year with us.
We Are RAD!! 💙💙
