Looking for ways to enjoy Thanksgiving without overdoing it? Here are some dishes that are both delicious and gentle on your body:

🦃Roast Turkey – A great source of protein to help keep your muscles strong.
💚Green Bean Casserole – Full of fiber and vitamins A, C, and K; try a lighter sauce with whole wheat flour and reduced-fat milk.
💚Baked Asparagus – Packed with folate, B vitamins, and vitamins A, C, and K.
🍠Sweet Potatoes – Fiber helps digestion, and vitamins A and C support your immune system.
🤍Mashed Cauliflower – Creamy and comforting, with fiber, potassium, protein, magnesium, and vitamins C and K.
🥧Pumpkin Pie – Enjoy a sweet treat made with a pecan crust and a filling of pumpkin puree, skim milk, and an egg substitute.

We recently gathered to celebrate the incredible employees who have dedicated so many years of heart and service to VMP. 💛 This year’s Years of Service Luncheon honored team members marking 5 years all the way up to 30+ years with us. We shared a catered lunch, milestone pins, and a special prize drawing, but most importantly, we shared our gratitude. To every honoree: may you be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make every day.

Act 2 Resale Shoppe, one of VMP’s on-site secondhand stores, recently donated an entire day’s proceeds to support local flood relief efforts. Thanks to the generosity of our community, $1,226 was raised and donated to West Allis initiatives. 💙 Together, we’re proud to stand with our West Allis neighbors.

We recently gathered for one of our favorite events of the year-our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon! 💞 It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces laughing, sharing stories, and enjoying a great meal together. To all 170 of our volunteers, thank you for giving your time and your hearts to our residents and community. VMP wouldn’t be the same without you.

🌟We are excited to partner once again with GFWC Woman’s Club of West Allis to collect new, unwrapped toys for children in our West Allis community to open this holiday season.

📅The toy drive starts today, November 10th, and will run through December 5th. Donation barrels are available at all main entrances of VMP. Monetary donations can be dropped off at the SCC Office in Wesley Park. Checks can be payable to Mt. Hope- put ‘Toy Drive’ in memo.

💞All donations will be given to Hope Closet, Women Initiate Self Healing, Hope (WISH) for children, and families within the West Allis Community.

Our memory care community spaces have been beautifully revamped! ✨ We recently celebrated the grand re-opening of our refreshed and modernized areas, made possible through a generous donation. A big thank you to our Director of Volunteer Services and Life Enrichment, Nichole, and her incredible team for bringing this vision to life. At VMP, we’re always striving to create welcoming, home-like spaces where residents can thrive. 💙

🎃Here are the results of this year's Department Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Congratulations to the B&G Transportation team for taking first place, Maplewood Admissions for coming in 2nd place, and the Palmer House team for earning 3rd place. All 18 pumpkins were so unique and creative! Thank you to everyone who voted and participated in this year's competition.
