There are still veterans on our Virtual Giving Tree who haven’t been selected yet. These individuals have given so much in service to our country, and now we have a chance to give back in a meaningful way. Our Veterans Giving Tree honors veterans from the Milwaukee VA Medical Center who do not have families by fulfilling their modest gift requests.

To participate, choose a veteran from the sign-up link below, and shop for the veteran. Purchase the requested gift and return the wrapped gift to the Milwaukee VA Medical Center (5000 W. National Ave.), at the Voluntary Service Unit through Dec. 18, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving).

The Wisconsin State Fair’s ticket exchange program starts next week after the final day of the 2025 fair was canceled because historic rainfall flooded the fairgrounds.

Fairgoers who were unable to attend the final Sunday of the State Fair could be eligible to exchange their Sunday tickets for admission to the 2026 Wisconsin State Fair.

Well.... soup weather is here.

Let me introduce you, or re-introduce you, to Log Cabin Friendship Soup.

All proceeds from this soup mix are used to support the Honey Creek Log Schoolhouse. You just have to add a pound of meat and can of diced tomatoes to this hearty mix.

These are for sale - $7 each - at City Hall and at the West Allis Public Library.
