Old Colony Hospice is looking for Pet Volunteers

Hospice Pet Volunteers visit patients in nursing homes, assisted living communities and private homes. Hospice pet visits offer a welcome distraction from illness and help people feel a little less lonely. They leave their patients—and anyone else lucky enough to be around smiling, more relaxed, and happier.

• Owner must successfully complete volunteer orientation

• Pet and owner must be registered with a nationally recognized therapy animal organization

If you are interested, please apply at oldcolonyhospice.org/volunteer or contact our Volunteer Program Manager at Jshtylla@oldcolonyhospice.com or 508-562-9257

📚 Happy World Book Day! 📚

Today we celebrate the power of stories to inspire, comfort, and connect us. Whether it’s a favorite novel, a meaningful memoir, or a cherished children’s book, reading has a way of bringing people together and opening hearts and minds.

Books can transport us, teach us, and remind us that we are never alone in our experiences.

Take a moment today to pick up a good book, share a story, or revisit a favorite read.

Your Hospice Care Partner

Hospice care is one of the most personal experiences of an individual’s life. Focused on meeting the physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of patients with advanced disease, hospice care often involves family and friends who are committed to ensuring that their loved one can live where they are most comfortable and enjoy the highest quality of life possible for their entire life.

For over 38 years, Old Colony Hospice’s team of registered nurses, social workers, counselors, hospice aides, nutritional consultants and volunteers has been providing caring, compassionate hospice care to patients and their loved ones in partnership with the patient’s primary care physician.

A free-standing, non-profit, Medicare certified, accredited health care organization, we are proud to serve 45 cities and towns in Southeastern Massachusetts - see our service area. In order to serve our patients and families in whatever setting they consider home. We also are able to offer physical, occupational and speech therapy through relationships with other care providers.
