2025 Veterans Day Celebrations - Honored to Serve Those Who Served

Old Colony Hospice & Palliative Care was deeply honored to attend the Town of Braintree Veterans Day Ceremony, where we were presented with the “Veterans Organization of the Year Award.”

The event brought together an inspiring group of community leaders and Veterans, including Mayor Erin V. Joyce, Chief of Police Tim Cohoon with the Braintree Police Department, Sergeant Timothy Connors, USMC (guest speaker), and Paul Marshall from the Veterans Services Department among others.

We are truly grateful for this recognition and proud to partner with the Town of Braintree and fellow organizations in honoring and supporting those who have bravely served our nation.

November is COPD Awareness Month

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) affects more than 30 million Americans and is a serious, chronic lung condition that makes it difficult to breathe.

COPD includes conditions such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema and can develop due to genetics, long-term exposure to irritants like smoke or air pollution, or early-life lung infections.

This month, we join the COPD Foundation in raising awareness, supporting those affected, and promoting lung health through education and advocacy.

November is National Long-Term Care Awareness Month

This month, we recognize the importance of planning for and understanding long-term care needs. Long-term care includes a wide range of services designed to meet a person’s health or personal care needs over an extended period — helping people live as safely and independently as possible when they can no longer perform everyday activities on their own.

At Old Colony Hospice & Palliative Care, we work alongside families and care partners to ensure compassionate, coordinated support for those facing serious illness or the challenges of aging.

Your Hospice Care Partner

Hospice care is one of the most personal experiences of an individual’s life. Focused on meeting the physical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of patients with advanced disease, hospice care often involves family and friends who are committed to ensuring that their loved one can live where they are most comfortable and enjoy the highest quality of life possible for their entire life.

For over 38 years, Old Colony Hospice’s team of registered nurses, social workers, counselors, hospice aides, nutritional consultants and volunteers has been providing caring, compassionate hospice care to patients and their loved ones in partnership with the patient’s primary care physician.

A free-standing, non-profit, Medicare certified, accredited health care organization, we are proud to serve 45 cities and towns in Southeastern Massachusetts - see our service area. In order to serve our patients and families in whatever setting they consider home. We also are able to offer physical, occupational and speech therapy through relationships with other care providers.
