🎉 Great News for Our PA Community!
The Hemophilia line item in the Pennsylvania State Budget has officially passed both the House and the Senate — with the current funding distribution fully protected. 🙌

📘 SB 160 – 2025–26 General Appropriations Budget Bill
• Fully funds the hemophilia line item at $1,017,000 💰
• Status: Passed the House (156–47) and the Senate (40–9)
• Now headed to the Governor’s desk 🖊️

📙 HB 416 – 2025–26 Fiscal Code Bill
• Safeguards the existing funding distribution formula for the hemophilia line item 🔒
• Status: Passed the Senate (43–6) and the House (189–14)
• Now headed to the Governor’s desk 🖊️

This is a major win for individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders across Pennsylvania — and for everyone advocating on their behalf. ❤️

Look who it is! Congratulations, Calliope!

🎓 Congratulations to our 2025 HFA Scholarship Winner — Calliope Padilla! 🎉

Calliope, a student at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, is pursuing a degree in Nursing inspired by her experience with Von Willebrand Disease (VWD) and her passion for helping others.

“Although my VWD has inspired me to be a nurse, I want to be a nurse for many reasons. Nursing is an opportunity to give back to the VWD community and care for others like me… Every interaction is a chance to care for, support, and uplift your patient.” 💙

Calliope hopes to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse, providing compassion and care to vulnerable newborns and their families.

“This scholarship empowers me to pursue my educational goals with greater confidence and determination… It brings me one step closer to my goal of becoming a NICU nurse.”
