Whatever your needs are, I have more than likely helped a mother in your same shoes and would love to meet you and your baby. My Mission: To help mothers reach their own breastfeeding goals— whether that is breastfeeding exclusively, doing a combination of breast and formula, or pumping exclusively. While helping mothers reach those goals, I foster an open, non-judgmental, common sense type of relationship with my clients— instilling in them that breastfeeding is a time to nurture and enjoy their relationship with their babies. If they’re not happy, I'm not happy! My Experience:My extensive background is totally focused on healthcare and wellness. I am an experienced RN and Lactation Consultant with Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from and The University of Kentucky. I am a licensed RN and a Board Certified Lactation Consultant. My career began 20 years ago when I was a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). While there, I developed a passion for bringing mothers and babies together through breastfeeding. After working for many years in the NICU, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). My work has taken me to many settings as a Lactation Consultant and provided me with a well-rounded, balanced background. Most of my experience has been in the hospital setting, outpatient clinics as well as in Pediatrician offices. Currently, I work part time as an IBCLC at Lankenau Medical Center on the Post-Partum Unit. The balance of my work is spent meeting with mothers and babies in their homes. My Personal Life: My husband and I have 2 school-aged kids whom I breastfed for a year each. Several years ago, my family and I relocated to West Chester, PA, from Denver, CO. While we miss the mountains, we love all that Chester County has to offer. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors hiking, skiing, gardening or horseback riding.

I had the opportunity to hear this dynamic author speak. She was amazing! This book is an excellent, thought provoking look at breastfeeding, mothering, big business and the influences that shape the way we feed our babies.

“When we trust the makers of baby formula more than we do our own ability to nourish our babies, we lose a chance to claim an aspect of our power as women. Thinking that baby formula is as good as breast milk is believing that thirty years of technology is superior to three million years of nature’s evolution. Countless women have regained trust in their bodies through nursing their children, even if they weren’t sure at first that they could do it. It is an act of female power, and I think of it as feminism in its purest form.” » Christine Northrup
