This is Holsten! Last week he threaded a bead independently for the first time! 🎉

Bead threading is a valuable activity to enhance fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and bilateral coordination. Not only can the kiddo work on threading the beads, but they can also work to arrange beads in specific patterns to develop foundational visual motor and perception skills. This activity can translate to various daily activities, as it promotes the simultaneously coordination of both sides of the body. Different types of bilateral coordination include:

👏🏻 Symmetrical Coordination: Both sides of the body perform the same action at the same time, such as clapping or jumping jacks.
🚲 Reciprocal Coordination: Both sides work together in an alternating pattern, like when pedaling a bicycle or walking.
✂ Asymmetrical Coordination: One side performs a different action than the other, such as holding paper with one hand while cutting with scissors in the other.

Hannah is passionate about working with children with autism and is dedicated to providing inclusive, strengths-based care for all children. She also specializes in supporting sensory needs and self-regulation, feeding concerns, and the development of motor and functional skills.

Congratulations to Asher on graduating from physical therapy! 🎓🎉

We loved the opportunity to be a part of his journey and watch him grow during his time at ABC! Here is what mom had to say about Asher's time with ABC Hamilton:

"Asher has made tremendous strides since beginning physical therapy and occupational therapy at four months old, when he started seeing Jill & Taylor after being diagnosed with torticollis caused by oral ties. Initially, his pediatrician dismissed our concerns, citing his weight gain was evidence that he was “fine.” However, thanks to Taylor & Jills astute observation and prompt action, Asher received the necessary treatment, including laser surgery to address the oral ties. Asher then started seeing Paige (PT) due to scheduling & she was also absolutely phenomenal. Over the past ten months, Asher has demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination! I am incredibly proud of his accomplishments! ❤️ We are getting so close!! 🥰 Forever thankful for ABC Pediatric Therapy Hamilton & all of the lady’s there! 100% the BEST! Taylor (OT) Paige (PT) & Jill (PT) will forever hold a special place in my heart. They never failed to make me feel seen and heard. I couldn’t recommend this facility or therapist enough, truly!" 💕

Meet Alexis!

Alexis chose to work in pediatrics because of how important early intervention is. She absolutely loves making an impact on the kiddos and seeing them flourish and grow as they get older. It’s beyond rewarding knowing she is teaching them skills that they will carry with them forever.
When she isn’t at the clinic, you can find her painting pottery, playing cards with her friends, and competing in CrossFit competitions with her sister.
Her enthusiasm and attentiveness make her a great addition to the team! When you’re in the Milford ABA clinic, ask Miss Alexis about her Lego collections!
