Meet Amanda!

Amanda's favorite thing about being a pediatric occupational therapist is helping kids reach their developmental milestones through play!
When she isn’t at the clinic, you can find her going to sporting events, concerts, watching scary movies, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite sport teams are the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Her creativity and passion for helping the children makes her such a great asset to our team. When you’re in the Loveland clinic, ask Miss Amanda about her Golden Doodle, Kobe! 🐾

Happy World Down Syndrome Day!

Our Loveland Clinic Director, Rachel, has a special connection to the Down Syndrome and special needs community. Her younger sister, Nora (or "Norbert" as Rachel calls her), has Down Syndrome.
"Having a sister with Down Syndrome introduced me to the world of pediatric therapy. Growing up with a sibling who has special needs, you become very aware of how the world is not always ready to accept differences. You often feel the stares of others and have to shrug off the, sometimes critical, comments people share with you.
I understand that so many of the families we see in our clinic have had experiences similar to mine. These experiences are what fuel my fire to provide a safe space for every child and family to be supported and understood. Through Nora, I've learned to celebrate every win, big or small, and treasure each connection made. Every individual carries their own set of strengths, no matter their abilities. There are challenging days, but there are also beautiful days where skills blossom and you laugh more than you ever thought you would. To anyone just starting their journey within the special needs community, or for anyone who's been living it for 20+ years like my family, always remember, you are not alone, we are here to be your biggest cheerleaders... and to use my favorite Harry Potter quote - 'It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.'" - Rachel 💛💙

Congratulations to another kiddo for graduating feeding therapy! 🎓🎉

Miss Heather recently had a kiddo graduate from speech feeding therapy. Here is what mom had to say about her child's time with Miss Heather at ABC Miamisburg:

"For the past 4 months, we had been dealing with feeding challenges with our now 6-month-old after trauma he experienced at another feeding facility. He completely refused to eat and required an NG tube for nutrition. We had previously attended speech and feeding therapy at a different provider, but ultimately felt like we weren’t getting the support or hands-on help he truly needed. When we came to ABC Pediatric Therapy, we met Heather Hensley, a feeding therapist who truly changed our lives. At that time, our son would only take about 20ml by mouth and relied almost entirely on his feeding tube. Over the course of just 2 months working with Heather, everything changed. She was patient, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. She tried different strategies, reassured us constantly, and poured her heart into helping our baby succeed. Because of her dedication, our son is now eating by mouth again, taking full feeds, enjoying baby food, and his feeding tube has been removed. Beyond her expertise, Heather made our son feel safe, loved, and cared for — and that made all the difference. We are beyond grateful for Heather and the team at ABC Pediatric Therapy. If you are struggling with feeding issues with a child of any age, we wholeheartedly recommend Heather Hensley. She is a blessing, and we will forever be thankful for the impact she has had on our family."
