Our staff recently welcomed Roger Meacham into a one-bedroom apartment at Barclay Friends. We understand the anxieties that come with this transition, and his children were impressed by the positive changes they have already seen in their father:

“The welcome he received meant everything. The staff made his first day feel comfortable and reassuring. After a difficult fall at his previous home that left him with a fractured shoulder, it has been incredible to see him regain strength and confidence with the help of the PT and OT team. He is thriving-and we couldn’t be happier with his new home.”

We pride ourselves on easing the transition and guiding towards a confident future. 💚

As part of our ongoing commitment to recognizing the dedicated individuals who serve our residents each day, we hosted Albie's Burger Truck on campus for a staff appreciation lunch.
Our Resident Engagement Team, joined by Stormy for a quick photo, captured the energy and spirit that define our community. We're proud of the work our team does and grateful for the compassion they bring to Barclay Friends.

We loved being part of this incredible event — giving our time and support to a cause that truly strengthens our community🤝💛

Thank you to all those who took the time and effort to drop off their donations to help us reach our fundraising goal of filling the truck! It was once again a successful event and we could not have done it without you! All proceeds go towards helping Spring-Ford Counseling Services provide mental health and substance abuse counseling and treatment.

A special THANK YOU to Dry-Tech Restoration, Barclay Friends, S&T Bank , and Creative Health Services for their donations and for being the muscles on truck day!

On Sunday, we had the joy of welcoming our staff and their families to Barclay Friends for a special Easter Egg Hunt – filling our gardens with little giggles, bright baskets, and lots of happy hunting!
These moments remind us that our team isn't just made up of dedicated professionals – it's made up of families who support, encourage, and help make our community stronger.
We're grateful for the chance to celebrate together!🐰🤝🌼

Today, we’re excited to share a beautiful intergenerational partnership in the making. 💚 Fourth graders from Exton Elementary visited to work with our residents to capture their life stories — learning, laughing, and building meaningful connections across generations.🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

This multi‑visit project gives students a deeper understanding of aging, while our residents enjoy the joy, energy, and thoughtful conversations only children can bring. We’re grateful for this opportunity to support intergenerational connection and lifelong learning.

We can’t wait to welcome these young authors back to Barclay Friends and watch these relationships grow! 🌱

Smiles, service, and community in action.
Guided by our Quaker values, we believe in service that uplifts and supports the community around us.
This week, we volunteered and donated items for Spring‑Ford Counseling’s Clothing Drive — a simple act of giving that reflects our commitment to community, dignity, and care for all.
Proud to give back to the neighbors who support us.🤝🕊️🌼

The building will offer Personal Care, Residential Living and Memory Care. For more information, follow our page or visit bf.kendal.org.
