Our 2025 Impact Report is here
This year, hope showed up in counseling rooms, in family support programs, in homes that finally felt safe again — and in the thousands of people who stood with us.

In 2025, because of supporters like you:
✔ Families received the counseling they couldn’t afford elsewhere
✔ Parents found stability during crisis
✔ Kids stayed safe and connected
✔ Community members found a path toward healing

This report isn’t just numbers — it’s stories, progress, and real lives changed across Chester County.

The Foxwynd Foundation Awards $25,000 Grant to Launch Trauma-Informed Counseling Center in Coatesville

West Chester, PA — Family Service of Chester County is proud to announce that it has received a $25,000 grant from the Foxwynd Foundation to help establish a new trauma-informed counseling center in Coatesville. This initiative will expand access to mental health resources and provide a welcoming space for individuals and families seeking support and healing.

The Foxwynd Foundation DAF funded the Foxwynd Foundation’s generous donation to Family Service of Chester County, enabling the organization to bring vital counseling resources directly into the Coatesville community. The new center will offer trauma-informed, culturally responsive counseling tailored to local needs, with services available both in-person and via telehealth to ensure care is accessible to all.

“With the Foxwynd Foundation’s support, we are bringing vital counseling resources directly into the Coatesville community,” said Mark Butler, Executive Director of Family Service of Chester County. “This grant allows us to create a safe and supportive space where individuals and families can heal, grow, and strengthen their overall well-being. We are deeply grateful for Foxwynd’s partnership and their belief in this vision.”

“At Foxwynd Foundation, we believe that healing begins when communities have access to compassionate care close to home. Supporting this new center in Coatesville reflects our commitment to helping individuals rebuild their lives with dignity, hope, and resilience,” said Bobby Gilchrist, Trustee, Foxwynd Foundation.

The $25,000 award will be used to launch and equip the Coatesville Trauma-Informed Counseling Center, expand clinical capacity, and enhance staff training in trauma-informed care. To maximize the impact of this investment, Family Service will also launch a dollar-for-dollar matching campaign to engage community members, local businesses, and donors in sustaining this effort.

For 78 years, Family Service of Chester County has been dedicated to strengthening individuals and families through professional counseling and support programs. With the launch of the Coatesville Trauma-Informed Counseling Center, the agency continues its mission to ensure that everyone—regardless of income—has access to compassionate, high-quality mental health services.

This month, our staff took on a special challenge: reading Malcolm Gladwell’s David and Goliath.

It’s a book about underdogs—about how people who seem to have the odds stacked against them can still triumph. Gladwell reminds us that what looks like a disadvantage can, with courage and creativity, become a powerful strength.

At Family Service of Chester County, we see this every day. The families we serve often face “giants” far bigger than themselves—poverty, illness, trauma, and loss. But when they walk through our doors, they aren’t alone. Our counselors and case managers stand...

Read the rest here:

Gladwell writes, “The act of facing overwhelming odds produces greatness and beauty.” We see that beauty every day—in a parent rebuilding stability for their children, in a teen finding their voice through therapy, and in a family who no longer feels alone.

100 days and counting…

Pennsylvania’s nonprofits are the ones keeping families fed, kids supported, and communities together — but they’re running out of time.

This isn’t politics. It’s people’s lives.

The longer this budget stalls, the more real impact is lost in our neighborhoods.

Let’s raise our voices for the ones doing the work on the ground.

It’s time to get it done.

“The 5 secrets to success…”

❌ There aren’t any.

The real secret is that there is no secret.

Everyone’s path is different. What works for one person might not work for you — and that’s okay.

Success comes from figuring out what drives you and learning how to apply it every day.

Don’t worry about someone else’s life.
