Hi, Randy Rolfe here! 👋 Let’s talk about dips those creamy favorites we love to pair with chips, veggies, or snacks (and yes, kids want to dip everything!).
A fascinating French study analyzed branded foods and found that certain additive clusters, not sugar, fat, or salt, were linked to a higher risk of type 2 diabetes. One surprising culprit? 🥣 Dips and creamy condiments.
These foods often contain a mix of additives like polyphosphates, potassium sorbate, xanthan gum, carrageenan, pectin, and modified starches ingredients that help keep dips smooth and shelf-stable but can stress your blood sugar and kidneys over time.
💡 Tip: Check the ingredient list! The more additives you see, the more likely it’s an ultraprocessed food that doesn’t serve your health or your kids’.
That’s why I always say: stick to single ingredient foods that are real, natural, and body-friendly.
