Meet Courtney, our Clinical Research Support Specialist, Courtney is a passionate public health professional from Inman, South Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Health from the University of South Carolina in 2024 and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health at USC, further deepening her expertise in public health practice and research 🧡.

Courtney is deeply committed to improving community health outcomes, with a particular interest in maternal and child health and addressing health disparities that affect underserved populations. She brings hands-on experience in research and has worked closely with community health workers, gaining valuable insight into implementing health programs that are both effective and culturally responsive 🧡.

With a dedication to both learning and serving, she strives to contribute to innovative solutions that promote wellness, equitable health access, and better outcomes for mothers and children in all communities. Biocentric Health Research Center is looking for women with a history of abnormal Pap smears to participate in a research study.

The purpose of this study is to collect specimens to help develop better testing for HPV and improve early detection methods for women’s health.

Biocentric Health Research Center is currently conducting a limited-time diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) clinical trial and are seeking a Certified Wound Care Nurse to join our dedicated team.

This temporary position is tied to the duration of a sponsored DFU clinical research study. The Wound Care Nurse will be responsible for performing study-specific wound care procedures, documentation, and clinical oversight under protocol guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform wound assessments, dressing changes, and documentation in compliance with protocol
- Measure, photograph, and monitor wound progression at each visit
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in study records and electronic systems
- Collaborate with Principal Investigator and Clinical Research Coordinator to ensure study
success
- Provide patient education regarding wound care and follow-up
- Report adverse events or deviations in alignment with GCP and sponsor requirements

Qualifications:
- Active APRN or RN License in the state of South Carolina
- Wound care certification (WCC, WOCN, or equivalent) required
- Minimum 1 year of wound care experience (clinical or home health settings)
- Research experience is a plus but not required—training provided
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Availability to work during the full duration of the project.
