A massive thank you to Neecie’s Barbering College ✂️ - whom together with our DAV 92nd Buffalo Chapter 20 proudly partnered for the Columbia VA Homeless Veterans STAND DOWN.

Jointly, we provided free haircuts, resources, and support, serving numerous veterans! Every hero walked away reminded they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.

Also, we salute the Dorn VA Team and our 1st Junior Vice Commander Mike Young for their commitment & insight on bringing this event together. 🫡

On Thursday, October 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Columbia VA Health Care System will host the Homeless Veteran Stand Down in Room D-100 and the adjoining courtyard at Dorn VAMC.

This event, coordinated by the Social Work Service Line and Healthcare for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Program, brings together VA staff and community partners to provide vital resources for Veterans who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Veterans can access:

- Health care screenings and mental health support
- VA benefits enrollment and claims assistance
- Housing and employment resources
- Legal and recovery services
- Food, clothing, and personal care items

Recently 92nd Buffalo Chapter 20 had the honor of visiting the Dorn VA Medical Center Warriors Walk to spend some time with Veterans in the hospice hall. We stood in salute to two extraordinary heroes ages 95 & 97, whose courage and sacrifice continues to inspire us all. There was enough tears and laughter shared to fill our hearts with gratitude. It was a privilege to be present with these Warriors, to remind them they are never forgotten, and to celebrate their service and lives.
