Macula Vision Research Foundation 100% of donations go to research - no administrative or fundraising expenses! Currently, more than 15 million Americans are affected by macular degeneration.

The Macula Vision Research Foundation (MVRF), is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to curing macular degeneration and related retinal diseases. This devastating disease is expected to dramatically increase over the next decade, impacting millions of Americans. An impaired macula causes a person to lose his/her central vision, creating a blind spot. This prevents a person from clearly seeing objects straight ahead; such as faces of people they love, words on a page, a checkbook, the ability to drive… limiting independence. Imagine the anguish of severe vision loss drastically changing the quality of your life. We are dedicated to finding a cure for people who are affected by this frightful disease, restoring their vision and bringing hope to the many others with retinal and macula diseases. Over the past 17 years, we have committed close to $20 million to groundbreaking scientific research that will lead us to a cure for retinal blindness. MVRF is especially unique in that every single dollar donated goes directly to research. The Karen and Herbert Lotman Foundation pays ALL expenses for the Macula Vision Research Foundation (including administrative and fundraising expenses). You can help! Time for another New Year's resolution check-in! Have you been using your Amsler Grid? This simple test of vision quality can detect degenerative changes in the macula. Download a FREE copy here:http://www.mvrf.org/the-disease/amsler-grid/

While wearing your reading glasses, cover one eye and look at the dot in the center of the grid. The grid should appear uniform in size and shape. Cover your other eye and repeat the test. If you notice areas on the grid are distorted, blurred, or discolored, contact your eye doctor immediately.
