Sandhills Monument Company is proud to integrate 21st century technology and timeless, old world craftsmanship. At Sandhills Monument Company, we combine today’s technology with the skills of a memorialist having worked in the monument industry for 40 years. We are the only monument company in North Carolina to own a Laser Etching Machine, allowing us to create customs designs in-house and eliminate outsourcing. We pride ourselves on supplying each customer with “Quality, Value, and Service.” You can be assured that you will receive the best personal service from the time you place your order until your loved one’s memorial is placed.

Cleveland Lee King
June 16, 1948 – Oct. 22, 2012

Cleveland is remembered as a devoted father and friend whose love, guidance, and kindness touched the lives of many. His memory continues to inspire those who knew him.

This memorial features an etched largemouth bass leaping from the water in the upper right corner, framed by a simple arched border, with the inscription “The Best Father, Dad & Friend.”

Today we remember Lois Mae Hawkins Gilchrist (Sept. 8, 1944 – Nov. 7, 2025), a loving mother and grandmother whose memory is cherished by her family.

This memorial features an oval ceramic portrait, engraved roses in the corner, and a matching granite vase with a rose design, along with the inscription “Loving Mother & Grandmother.”

Thank you to the Gilchrist family for allowing us to help honor her memory.

Today we remember Ruth Elizabeth McMillan (Apr. 7, 1942 – Dec. 7, 2024). Ruth—affectionately known as “Tootsie”—is cherished for her love, faith, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. Her memory continues to live in the hearts of her family and friends.

Her memorial features praying hands at the top with a ribbon inscribed “Mom,” a cross on the adjacent flower vase, and her nickname “Tootsie” at the base—a heartfelt tribute to her life and love.

We are grateful to the McMillan family for allowing us to honor her memory.

We honor Walter B. & Bessie S. Poplin and their family, established December 24, 1911, remembering the love, legacy, and generations of children who carried their spirit forward.

This beautiful family monument features cross and rose emblems on each side, a memorial coin, and a portrait on the accompanying vase, marking “The Home Place.”
