ON THE IMPORTANCE OF HYDRATION

Some symptoms your body experiences can actually signal a state of dehydration.

Hydration can be supported by simply drinking more water, and consuming watery foods (such as watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumber, peaches).

If this is not sufficient, herbal medicine can also be helpful. According to the diagnosis, the condition may deficient or excess in nature. We can use Chinese herbal treatment to nourish or clear pathogenic factors that generate dehydration and associated ailments.

This is a good one for the often neglected front side of the hips where they meet the upper legs. Try it out. If it’s uncomfortable it means your energy is stagnating there and your body will thank you for doing this more.

Keep this regular to the point where you are going through a day and have complete ease with the practice. That’s when you can decrease frequency, but keep an eye on it because the modern lifestyle implies a lot of sitting and discourages movement here, so the condition can recur. It’s best to have a semi-regular practice of it to maintain the benefits you have received.

We begin in and by the Name of God the Universally Merciful, the Specifically Merciful.

“And to God belong the Beautiful Names, so Call Him by them.” Quran 7:180

A patient was sharing the Oneness in the Source of all things, and our conversation gravitated to the content this piece holds.

I received it exactly 10 years ago from friends at a going away/graduation/birthday party in Tucson, Arizona.

It used to hang in the office but has been in storage since repainting last year.

The conversation was a good reminder to rehang it. This time I hope to have a small written sign next to it to help people understand what it says.

“And to God belong the Beautiful Names, so Call Him by them.” Quran 7:180

Abi Huraira reported: “The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said “Allah has ninety-nine Names. Whoever preserves/protects them will enter the Garden.”

In Islamic and Sufi spiritual healing, the Name of God (Allah) is likened to the sun while the Names (99) are akin to rays of the sun. They come from the singular source and take you back.

This is a vibrational medicine to transform what lives in the heart.

One of the joys of working with patients for maintenance is the odd issues that come up from time to time.

This patient has not had any prior complaints relating to digestion, but has been experiencing pain for several days now.

Chinese medicine is powerful, can be instantly effective. Today we used acupuncture and some light on the abdomen to clear the stagnation that was causing his pain. I am optimistic that this will not return for him, but in case it does we have a good formula in stock that is an excellent fit because it also addresses other issues he is prone to.

Beyond his recovery, I am hopeful his GI specialist will hear the story to know acupuncture can be helpful for such conditions.

It’s always time for tea.
Today’s blend: Turkish Black tea steeped with powdered cardamom, Shan Zha (Chinese Hawthorn), and Huang Qi (Astragalus Root).

The addition of the herbs gives a different effect from the tea drunk alone. The effects are awakening in senses and opening for the heart to be in flow rather than resistance.

I noticed the swirl at the bottom of my cup and I recall only once before had I seen this shape naturally occurring in my cookware...a pot with burned food about 8 years ago.

It’s always time for tea.

During that time of the month, many women find themselves uncomfortable to the degree that they are not able to go to school or work. They come to believe this picture is normal and unavoidable.

Today we used a few hand 🤚🏽 points and some Gua Sha to clear out a headache and neck stiffness 🎯.

The patient also mentioned that she gets low back pain with her menstrual cycle. After the needles I asked how the low back was. She replied “its still sore of course!” After less than a minute of Moxabustion I asked again and she said the pain was gone.

Because this is an old pattern it might take time to resolve but I remember how relieved another patient was when after a round of herbs, never had painful periods again.

Everyone should know that acupuncture can help big time with regulating the cycle, reducing pain, cramps, and clotting. Wherever you may be, if you know somebody who has been struggling- let them know.
