Thought I’d pop on social media today and share a recent creative venture I went on! It relates more to reiki and energy, allowing the flow of creative energy come in mysterious ways!

This week I attended an art class at the plains art museum with the artist , where we learned to make natural inks for painting with! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot! It triggered my creative mind and made me think about photography!

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Why would natural ink making for painting make someone think about photography?” Well I’ll share that with you now!

As a photographer I’ve taken a few film classes where we developed film as well as photo prints in a darkroom. If you’ve never experienced developing film, It’s a fun magical process where photos come to life right in front of your eyes! It also is a humbling, trial and erroring, as well as experimenting process that takes time where you loose track of time! You emerge from the darkroom after hours on end wondering what the time is, like the Jumanji meme with Robin Williams that says, “What year is it?!” when he emerges from the game. 🤷🏻‍♀️😆

Anyways, recently I found some oldish film paper that is used to make photo prints in the darkroom, in my plethora piles of art supplies I have lying around my house. (I may or may not have an art supply collecting problem! 😆) This lead to me going down a rabbit hole of looking up creative ideas on what to do with this paper. I came across a process where you take different household liquids or other types of chemicals, and cover the paper with them. This got my gears going and made me excited! What would the natural inks do to the paper? Now I want to play and experiment! I feel like we should go on a journey together in the near future and find out!

Moral of this story, sometimes you never know when creativity will strike and ignite a fire within your soul!

About a month ago I came across this beautiful creature and couldn’t resist taking them home with me! I’m a firm believer in allowing the universe to sneak to me!

This guy is an air plant and when I saw him hooked in this glass jellyfish hanger, I knew I couldn’t go home without him! He was just too cute! I later looked up the symbolism of both a jellyfish and an air plant and this is what I discovered:

🪼Allow yourself to shine from the inside out, let those around you see who you are.
🪼Embrace the flow and find the strength to surrender past experiences/expectations.
🌱Ability to thrive without soil suggests adaptability and an unconventional approach to life.
🌱Creative growing style enables freedom to experiment and break the mold.
🌱Alleviates stress to help create a peaceful environment for growth and healing.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d say this guy is here to help me on my healing business journey. It also kind of reflects who I am and how I want to help others heal!
