Xin Nian Hao! 12 years ago I began the year of the Rat starting my first semester at Five Branches, scratching the surface of becoming an Acupuncturist. Five Branches was born 1984 same year as myself making us both Rats. I can recall feeling like 2020 was a whole world away... and HERE IT IS! One of my first patients in student clinic had been on a PPI since he was part of the trials 14 years prior. He was suffering from retained pathogen, a flu that had not quit for over 30 days. Theoretically, no stomach acid = cannot fight the germs. Now that drug has exploded in use, until recently my patients have been telling me their MDs are taking them off of it. The good folks at La Mer Medical are no longer prescribing due to concerns of blocking nutrtional absorption. Talk to your MD and always think twice before taking anything that disrupts your body's natural functions.
