Feeling so proud of Cara for her acceptance into medical school! She recently came out to LA to shadow me, and it was such a meaningful full-circle moment.
One of the greatest joys in my career has been the opportunity to mentor future physicians — to pass on not just surgical skills, but also the values of compassion, curiosity, and patient-centered care that guide my practice every day.
Watching her step into this next chapter reminds me of why I chose medicine in the first place, and how important it is to invest in the next generation.
