His High Places

His High Places His High Places is a Biblical Christian Counseling Ministry. Enter Broken, Leave Whole! One week and two week visits are available.

His High Places is a Christian Counseling Ministry operating in the North Carolina High Country for more than 36 years. We minister to Christians who are in various stages of crisis, pain and emotional woundedness. The most common issues we work with are marital problems (including infidelity), sexual sin, depression, grief, spiritual disillusionment, emotional exhaustion and career burnout. Our guests are housed in their own private quarters in a lovely "bed and breakfast" type home where they receive more than 20 hours of intensive one-on-one biblical counseling per week. Sequestered and pulled out of their daily life, our clients are led to discover the deep root causes of their presenting issues. Through a combination of highly effective spiritual diagnostic tools, scripture, prayer and skilled Biblical counseling our guests experience incredible breakthroughs, deep inner healing, and freedom.

We’re continually in awe of how God meets people here at His High Places. 💚

Every story of healing is a reminder of His compassion, wisdom, and faithfulness.

We’re so thankful for the lives being changed through Christ-centered counseling every day. 🙏

A grateful heart sees God’s goodness in every season.

Today we pause to thank Him — for His faithfulness, His healing, and the beautiful way He meets us in the quiet places. 💛

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? 🌍✈️

Dream a little together tonight! Around the table, share the places that inspire you — and what draws your heart there.

Every year, men and women come to His High Places longing for healing and renewal — but some cannot afford the cost of counseling.

Through the Scholarship Fund, we’re able to say yes to those who might otherwise have to say no.

This year, we’ve set a goal to raise $5,000 by December 31 — enough to provide 20 scholarships!

Would you help us reach that goal?

Meet Richard Apgar, one of our incredible counselors at His High Places.

Richard has been part of our ministry since 2005, serving individuals and couples who are seeking to strengthen their relationships and find healing through Christ.

🙏 We’re so grateful for the wisdom, compassion, and faith he brings to every session.

💬 Leave a word of encouragement for Richard in the comments!

What is something about creation that is especially meaningful to you? 🌿🌅

Maybe it’s a sunrise that reminds you of His faithfulness, or the ocean’s rhythm that speaks of His peace. Take time to share the beauty that draws you closer to God. 💛

Have you ever felt spiritually asleep?

We call that a slumbering spirit — a part of the heart that’s grown weary or quiet. Scripture calls us to “Awake, O sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:14)

This month, our counselors are reflecting on what it means to awaken the spirit within us — to reconnect with God’s presence, creativity, and peace.

🌿 Ask yourself:
• How does worship affect my heart lately?
• When was the last time I felt inspired by God?

A new season has begun at His High Places, and we’re full of gratitude for the Lord’s faithfulness. 💛

After much prayer and unity from our Board, Jennifer Hart has officially stepped into the role of Executive Director. Please join us in welcoming her and praying for this next chapter of ministry!

His High Places continues to be a sacred space where hearts are healed, lives are renewed, and the Holy Spirit does what only He can do.
