Over 100 New Jersey high school students got a firsthand look at careers in medicine during the inaugural “Teens with Stethoscopes” program, hosted by the Jersey Women Physician Alliance on March 21 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. The initiative offered hands-on clinical experiences, mentorship, and real-world insight within various healthcare specialties including Gastroenterology, OB-GYN, Cardiology, Surgery, Nephrology, Anesthesia, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, and Dentistry.
New Brunswick Mayor Jim Cahill, along with co-chair Dr. Sudha Nahar of Allied Digestive Health, Dr. Sameera Maganti, David Nelson, Sap Sinha, and Dr. Gloria Bachmann, inaugurated the event with a ribbon cutting ceremony—marking the beginning of an inspiring day dedicated to future healthcare leaders. Special recognition to the participating physicians, community leaders, and volunteers whose commitment to mentorship continues to create pathways for aspiring doctors.
Inaugural One-Day Event Offered 100 High School Students Direct Mentorships with Local Healthcare Workers
