💙 April is Autism Acceptance Month
🌈 April 2 is Autism Acceptance Day

Acceptance goes beyond awareness. It means creating spaces where autistic individuals feel understood, supported, and included just as they are.

At Graham Behavior Services, we celebrate neurodiversity and are committed to compassionate, individualized care for every child and family we serve.

Let’s continue to listen, learn, and support together. 💙♾️

What if the skills your child learns in therapy actually showed up everywhere that matters? 💡

That’s what generalization in ABA therapy is all about.

It’s not just learning a skill…
It’s using it:
✔ At home
✔ At school
✔ In the community

Because real progress isn’t what happens in a session…
It’s what happens in everyday life ✨

This is exactly why generalization is so important—and why it’s intentionally taught, not left to chance.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Jessica Sylvester

Jessica has a passion for ABA and the way it connects science with meaningful impact. She describes ABA as “math for behavior,” where the right combination of strategies can lead to powerful outcomes that enhance the lives of clients and their families.

Over her 1.5 years at Graham, Jessica has continued to grow her skills while doing the work she loves most, helping individuals build independence and confidence.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find Jessica watching soccer (USWNT, Gotham FC, and Atlético de Madrid), camping, traveling, enjoying film and TV, or relaxing at the beach with a proper cuppa… and of course, a Pepsi.

We’re grateful to have Jessica as part of the GBS team! 💚

✨ New Publication from Our Clinical Team

We’re excited to share new research co-authored by our Chief Clinical Operations Officer, Jilian Planer DeTiberiis, M.A., BCBA, LBA.

This study explores how a simple ABA strategy called a high-probability request sequence may help increase a child’s attention to instruction and support learning readiness during therapy.

Research like this helps move the field forward and strengthens the evidence behind the strategies used to support children with autism.

Misconceptions about developmental disabilities are more common than many people realize. 💜

During Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, it is important to move beyond myths and focus on understanding. When we understand the realities of developmental disabilities, we create more inclusive schools, workplaces, and communities.

Developmental disabilities are lifelong, but individuals continue to grow, learn, and build meaningful lives with the right support. Every person has unique strengths, goals, and experiences. Support is not about changing who someone is. It is about building communication, independence, confidence, and opportunity.

Awareness is the first step.
Understanding helps create inclusion. ♾️
