As a Board Trustee and Chair of the Development Committee, Lu-Ann Russell leads by example and action. She is usually the first to like, comment and share our posts. She tells friends, colleagues and family of her admiration and appreciation of Mercy Center staff and volunteers and about our work of helping those is need, whether it is in the classroom or those struggling from food insecurities or mental health issues. She invites and asks others to support us. She hosted a Sip & Sign with over 60 friends to raise funds for Sisters Academy. This desire to promote our work stems from watching her mom raise seven children and hold multiple jobs even through difficult times. She channels her mother’s lessons of hard work, gratitude, compassion, kindness and giving back into her role at Mercy Center. And we are better because she does.
