We wanted to take a moment to congratulate Kasey Smalling on 15 remarkable years with Haik Humble Eye Center. What began as a career rooted in hard work and dedication has blossomed into a journey of leadership, influence, and purpose. Over the years, Kasey has grown alongside this organization — evolving from her early roles into the incredible Administrator and leader she is today.
Kasey leads with a rare and genuine compassion — the kind that inspires those around her to rise higher. She has an innate ability to truly see people: to recognize their strengths, nurture their potential, and pour into them in a way that allows them to grow and flourish.
Through every season, she has been the heartbeat of our culture — steady in her vision, intentional in her care, and unwavering in her commitment to both our team and our patients.
When asked about her time at Haik Humble, this is what Kasey had to say, "I can still remember the day I sat in the Monroe office break room and interviewed for my first position at Haik Humble. A colleague took a chance on someone with a good resume, but who "couldn't even read her own EOB". Slowly and surely, healthcare became a passion and over the last 15 years Haik Humble has been the place I've been lucky enough to call my second home. It is where I found my career, and I could never thank the people enough who poured in to me along the way.
I could spend a lot of time listing all of the things I love about Haik Humble...The way our providers care for their patients, the opportunity to work alongside smart and compassionate people everyday, patients you build relationships with, the community involvement, the way two days are never the same...But at the end of the day knowing I have the privilege to be a small part of continuing the legacy and impact Haik Humble has in our community, for patients and our employees, makes every single day rewarding.
The last 15 years brought challenges, hardships, tears, growth, wins, celebrations, hard work, friendships and a lot of laughter with people I have come to cherish. I hope I never lose sight of the gift Haik Humble has been in my life....Here's to the next 15 years!"
Kasey, your journey is a testament to what it means to grow with grace, lead with purpose, and love what you do. Thank you for fifteen years of extraordinary dedication, heart, and leadership. We are endlessly grateful for you and all that you continue to build here at Haik Humble Eye Center.
