Low vision affects millions of people worldwide — yet it’s often misunderstood. 👁️

Low vision is not total blindness. Many people still have usable sight, even though glasses, contacts, or surgery cannot fully correct it. Everyday tasks like reading, driving, recognizing faces, or using screens can become challenging, and without proper support, many experience frustration, isolation, or anxiety.

That’s why awareness matters!

Early detection can help protect remaining vision. Education reduces stigma and misunderstanding. And access to the right resources and support can greatly improve independence and quality of life. 👓

This Low Vision Awareness Month, let’s learn more, share knowledge, and help create a more inclusive world. 💙🌎

Description: Today’s graphic includes five slides, all over a light blue background with a sun glare design in the upper right. The first slide reads across the center “Low Vision Awareness that leads to support.” Each slide after includes a headline at the top with a description below it — the first being “Eye-Opening Facts,” followed by “Why Awareness Matters,” then “Helpful Tools and Support,” and finally “What Causes Low Vision?” The BRIDGES logo is centered at the top on each slide.

Protect SNAP‑Ed in NY! 🍎❤️

For 30+ years, SNAP‑Ed has helped families stretch SNAP benefits, access fresh food, and make healthy choices — all while supporting local farms. Federal funding ended with H.R.1, and now the program is at risk.

Urge Governor Hochul to invest $30M in FY27 to keep nutrition education and food access strong for all New Yorkers! 🥗💚

📩 Send a message to your State Senator and Governor today: www.advocacy.childrensaidnyc.org

Description: Over a plain blue background, both slides read “Protect SNAP-Ed” in white lettering and a light blue text box. Both have descriptions below it with the BRIDGES logo centered at the top.
