🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day! Today we’re proud to celebrate those who’ve served with the launch of ALF’s new Veterans Information Center, created in partnership with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

With over 100,000 Veterans living with or at risk for liver disease, including more than 2,000 diagnosed annually with liver cancer, this new resource offers vital information on early detection, lifestyle management, and tools to protect liver health.

“Veterans put their lives on the line to keep our country safe and deserve to enjoy optimal liver health,” said Lorraine Stiehl, Chief Executive officer of the American Liver Foundation.

ALF's Health Policy Round-Up is here! After years of advocacy, we are thrilled to celebrate that Eli Lilly & Co. and Novo Nordisk have reached an agreement with the Trump Administration to expand access and reduce the cost of obesity treatments for Medicare, Medicaid, and eligible cash-pay patients. Additionally, while the government shutdown continues, ALF advocates met with congressional offices during October for National Liver Awareness Month and will continue to hold meetings through November. Big news! After years of advocacy, we are thrilled to celebrate that Eli Lilly & Co. and Novo Nordisk have reached an agreement with the Trump Administration to expand access and reduce the cost of obesity treatments for Medicare, Medicaid, and eligible cash-pay patients. This is a monumental step toward affordable care and access for our liver community. Obesity is a leading cause of MASLD/MASH.

Congress must now build on this momentum by advancing the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA), legislation that would expand Medicare coverage to the full continuum of obesity care, including improvements to the intensive behavioral therapy benefit.
