Meet ALF advocate, Julianna C. from Ohio, who will be joining us for the Liver Life Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC on April 21–23! Julianna advocates to break the stigma surrounding liver disease. After being diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), she learned firsthand that liver disease does not discriminate. By raising awareness, she hopes others will get their liver numbers checked which could potentially be a lifesaving test. She believes early detection is critical, as treatments are available for many diseases, and she continues to hope for a cure for her own. Thank you, Julianna, for sharing your story and being a Liver Life Advocate!

This Women’s History Month, we’re honoring women who walk alongside liver patients and families every step of the journey.

Today we feature Aimee Muth, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Aimee found her calling in liver transplant as a social work intern — and has built a career centered on multidisciplinary care and patient support. She is deeply grateful to be part of her patients’ journeys.

Through American Liver Foundation’s patient and caregiver support groups, she extends that care beyond her hospital walls — helping families nationwide feel less alone.

Fun fact: She fosters dogs and has completed the NYC Marathon!

Thank you, Aimee, for strengthening the liver community through compassion and connection.

As Women’s History Month continues, we’re spotlighting women transforming liver care for the next generation.

Today we feature Jaime Chu, MD, FAASLD, Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Director of Pediatric Liver Transplantation at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Chu was drawn to pediatric hepatology for the opportunity to care for children from infancy through adulthood — and for the life-changing impact of transplantation when needed.

Her partnership with American Liver Foundation through education, advocacy, and national engagement reinforces the importance of connection and shared learning in improving outcomes for children and families.

Fun fact: She was a collegiate women’s soccer player — and now cheers on her three sons from the sidelines.

Thank you, Dr. Chu, for your leadership in pediatric liver health!
