Many families wonder how to bring comfort and peace to a loved one nearing the end of life.

Palliative care isn’t just about medical care, it’s about emotional presence, gentle communication, and creating meaningful moments.

Simple things like holding a hand, sharing memories, or playing soft music can bring deep comfort.

Our blog, “How to Care for a Dying Loved One,” offers guidance on how families can navigate these tender moments with compassion.

Read the blog to learn more, and when you’re ready, contact our team to see how we can help bring comfort and dignity home.

Caring Senior Service of Essex County was honored to participate in today’s Livingston Veterans Day Ceremony — a meaningful tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of our nation’s veterans.

Seth Weisleder joined NJ Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill, Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill, the Mayor and Council of Livingston, NJ, and countless community members who gathered to pay their respects. Even in brief interactions with local veterans, their presence served as a powerful reminder that their stories must continue to be shared, protected, and passed forward.

Caring Senior Service extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have served and to all who support them every day.

The Township of West Orange is holding an emergency food drive to help our neighbors struggling with food insecurity due to the loss of SNAP benefits caused by the government shutdown. All donated food items will support our local food pantries.

Non-perishable food items may be dropped off in the large bin labeled “Food Pantry Donation Bin” located outside the West Orange Fire Department Headquarters at 415 Valley Road.

Drop-off hours are daily from 8:30AM-8:30PM.

Food pantries are in need of the following items: cereal, ramen, canned vegetables, canned fruit, bagged rice, pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned soup, canned chili, canned beef stew, peanut butter, jelly and canned beans.

For questions or concerns, please contact the Mayor’s Office at 973-325-4101 or mayor@westorange.org.

Thank you for your support during this critical time of need.
