Closing out another year in the O.R. ⭐️

As the year comes to a close, Dr. Spiro reflects on another full year in the operating room alongside a team that makes it all possible. Shown here at CBMC where Dr. Spiro has performed full days of surgery twice a week for the past 29 years! Dr. Spiro performed about 1000 procedures this year between the LSC Ambulatory Center and CBMC Hospital.

A customized approach makes all the difference ⭐️

This result was achieved through a highly customized surgical plan designed around the patient’s goals and anatomy. Dr. Spiro performed a bilateral mastopexy-reduction with implant augmentation using a superior pedicle technique, carefully reshaping and lifting the breast tissue while adding volume.
Implant selection was based on the patient’s desired outcome of a D/DD result, using silicone gel implants. Due to natural torso asymmetry and left-sided slope, lateral recruitment, stabilization, and advancement were performed on the left breast to improve anterior projection and achieve optimal balance. Internal support was reinforced with meticulous layered closure aided by the use of straps of P4Hb GalaFLEX internal bra material.
Every detail from implant choice to internal structural adjustments was intentionally planned to create a result that is balanced, proportional, and tailored specifically to this patient.

Breast Lift vs Breast Reduction

A Breast Lift (Mastopexy) and a Breast Reduction are often confused, but they serve two different purposes.

A Breast Lift corrects sagging in the breasts by removing stretched skin and raising and reshaping the remaining tissue. Breast lifts can improve breast shape, position, enhance size, and create natural looking, long lasting results.

A Breast Reduction removes excess fat, glandular breast tissue, and skin from the breasts. Many patients turn to this surgery to achieve a breast size that is in better proportion with their body.

Seven years later and this mural still stands as one of the most defining moments of my career.

Seven years ago, I stepped outside the operating room and onto a 32-foot wall in Wynwood for Art Miami Week / Art Basel, becoming the only non-professional artist ever invited to create a public mural during the event. What began as a simple sketch grew into an eight day marathon of late nights, ladders, taped perspective lines, Miami heat, and more than 75 hours of pure focus.

As we celebrate the 7-year anniversary, I’m reminded of how transformative this opportunity was. Over the next several days, we’ll take you behind the scenes into the process, the challenges, the evolution, and the story behind this mural step by step.

Thank you to everyone who continues to appreciate this piece and the story behind it.
