Green Turtle

Green Turtle Kripalu Yoga Classes, Yin Yoga, Yin-Yang Fusion, Thai Yoga Green Turtle is yoga with a mission! Nothing is seen as separate or unnrelated. Why turtles?

Balance is the key to caring for ourselves, one another and our planet. By unifying the body, mind and spirit through yoga, we can see the interconnectedness of our inner and outer health and the energy that is within and around us. Understanding these connections, we can then better maintain the health and wellbeing of our selves, those we care about and the world around us. Health, wellness and sustainability go hand-in-hand. Green Turtle combines yoga for health and well-being with caring for our local community and the planet. In addition to hosting benefit yoga sessions for local non-profit organizations, Green Turtle donates a portion of profits to protect turtles and turtle habitat around the world. As you cultivate your own health and wellness, you are helping to improve the health and wellness of your surroundings for future generations, too. Many turtle species, both land and aquatic, are in trouble due to habitat loss, ingestion of plastics caused by garbage in the world's oceans, and as a direct or indirect result of other human activities such as fishing, poaching and pollution. As an important symbol in many cultures since prehistoric times, turtles continue to remind us to slow down, breathe deeply, take our time, and think long-term. Some turtles are known to have lived for hundreds of years, and breathing rates have been measured to take two full minutes to inhale and then two minutes to exhale. In the process of assisting with turtle conservation efforts and habitat protection, many other species that are a part of our terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems will also benefit! In a day and age when we can easily become distracted from living in the present, feel overwhelmed by the issues facing our planet and be overcome by the stresses of daily living, the turtle can be a powerful reminder to slow down, remember what is important, and to cherish each moment of the journey since life is short, unless you are a turtle. What style of Yoga is it? Kripalu Yoga - a style of yoga for any one and any body! This 'yoga of compassion' will help to:

A Winter Solstice Blessing

The winter solstice is a sacred time,
infused with quiet magic and returning light.
It is a moment when the universe, in its infinite kindness,
awakens our hearts to tender and brighter possibilities,
rekindling the light of hope within our souls
as a new cycle of light slowly begins.

In this holy pause between darkness and dawn,
we are invited to release,
to loosen our grip on old patterns, heavy sorrows,
and lingering wounds that we may continue to carry.
With open hands and gentle hearts,
we step forward,
cradling the promise of brighter, more hopeful beginnings.

May all who have known loss or disappointment
find comfort in this peaceful turning.
May the light, though small at first,
guide us faithfully through the darkest days,
reminding us that even the longest night
must yield to morning.

As we give thanks for all that has nourished us,
every lesson, every kindness, every tenderness
that shaped our year,
we honor the path that brought us here.
And in gratitude,
we begin again,
walking onward with renewed hope,
gentle anticipation,
and the quiet courage
to welcome the year ahead.

I hope you find warmth
on the coldest of days.
I hope you never feel alone
Or forgotten.
I hope you find light
in the darkest of hours
And know that every star
shines for you
to light your way
back home ..
Back to who you truly are.
I hope you find love
When you've forgotten
how to love yourself.
And last but not least
I hope you always remember
that you are worthy
of all that feels missing
during the hardest of days.
And that no one stays
lost, dark or
left out in the cold forever ...

This service project is near and dear to my heart and has so much to teach youngsters about community, kindness and helping animals, and the importance of giving. Please help these kids gather needed items to the animal shelter next Friday. Just bring to the studio next week and I will bring it to drop the school. Thank you so much!
