Ladies…Your body isn’t resisting weight loss…

It’s responding to stress.

I used to think I needed to:
eat less
cut carbs
work out more
be more “disciplined”

But I realized my nervous system was stuck in fight-or-flight! And none of that was going to work the way I wanted it to until I calmed my system down.

Because a stressed body will:
→ spike and crash your blood sugar
→ disrupt your hormones
→ wreck your sleep
→ keep you inflamed, exhausted, and stuck

You can’t heal in survival mode.

The real magic happened when I made these shifts:
Slowed down.
Got outside more.
Moved my body in ways that felt good.
Spent time with people I loved.
Did things that actually calmed my system.

This isn’t “extra”…
this is the foundation.

A calm body = better metabolism.

And a better metabolism is the secret to a healthy life!

As a functional nurse practitioner… this is what “healthy” looked like for me this weekend 🤍

No food tracking.
No guilt.
No starting over on Monday.

Because real health isn’t built in a perfect routine…
It’s built in how you live your actual life.

We went out to eat and I didn’t stress about every ingredient—because chronic stress around food is worse for your metabolism than one imperfect meal.

My kids played on the playground, got dirty, and were exposed to germs—because building a resilient immune system requires exposure, not avoidance.

We ate candy and foods I don’t normally eat—because metabolic health is about consistency, not restriction.

I took a nap on the porch, got sunlight, and slowed down—because your nervous system and circadian rhythm play a huge role in hormones, energy, and weight.

And we spent real, quality time together—because connection is one of the most overlooked parts of health.

This is what I teach my clients.

Not perfection.
Not extremes.
Not rules that only work when life is calm.

Simple, sustainable habits that work in real life.

If your version of “healthy” feels stressful, restrictive, or impossible to keep up with…

It’s not the right plan.

Small shifts. Big results.
And yes… you can still live your life 🤍

Not me telling you to eat the Easter candy…Or am I?

You don’t need to “be good” this weekend.
You don’t need to earn your food.
And you definitely don’t need to start over on Monday.

Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do…
is relax, enjoy the moment, and make memories with your people 🤍

One day won’t make or break you—
but stressing about it just might.

So eat the candy.
Enjoy the meal.
Be present.

“Why are so many medical providers becoming influencers?”

Maybe it’s because influencers are starting to act like medical providers.

And that’s a problem.

Listen—I’m not against health coaches. There are some amazing ones out there who truly change lives.

But they are few and far between.

What I am seeing more and more of is people with little to no clinical education giving medical advice, interpreting labs, recommending protocols, and treating complex health issues…

And that’s not just misleading—it can be dangerous.

As an NP, I’ve had patients come to me after trying “protocols” they found online that left them more confused, more symptomatic, and further from actual healing. Or worse, they used a health coach and ended up with worsening health conditions and came to see me after hospitalization!

You deserve better than that. You deserve better than guesswork.

You deserve someone who understands the body as a whole…
Who’s trained, licensed, and qualified…
And who can think outside the conventional box without putting your health at risk.

That’s what functional medicine is supposed to be.

Not trends. Not shortcuts. Not social media advice.

If you’re going to invest in your health—
Make sure you’re investing in someone who’s actually equipped to guide you.

Your health is too important to leave in the hands of someone who just “learned it online.” Trust me!

You’ve heard “Half your body weight in ounces” of water, right?

That’s the bare minimum.
Not the goal.
Not the gold standard.

The minimum to survive without feeling like trash.

Reality: You need MORE. More like double that minimum!

And if you’re waiting until you’re thirsty?
You’re already behind.

Thirst = your body sending a “we messed up” notification 🚨

At the end of the day…
We are basically houseplants with emotions.

Underwater yourself → wilt
Hydrate properly → thrive 🌿

Be honest… are you thriving or barely surviving today? 😅

When you wake up your body just went 6–8 hours without water.

You’re not tired…
You woke up dehydrated.

Give your body what it needs!

Morning water helps:
→ Wake up your metabolism
→ Support digestion
→ Reduce that “need coffee ASAP” feeling

I know… don’t come for your coffee ☕️ As a tired momma of two rambunctious boys I feel ya!

But if caffeine is the first thing hitting your body every morning… we need to talk.

That “I need coffee to function” feeling?
That’s NOT your personality.
That’s dehydration + blood sugar chaos.

If you’re running on fumes, jittery but exhausted and crashing by 2pm. (This used to be me!)
