.... what causes it and how do you manage it?
Inflammation is the root cause of any source of pain, really. How do you get rid of it? You don't. But you can learn how to manage it and live a better life with reduced pain.
This is the hard part......
First, reduce your dairy, white flour and refined sugars intake - these are a few major causes of inflammation.
Although dairy has many benefits, it's one of the main causes of inflammation. Our bodies are not designed to ingest dairy products yet they've been a source of food for calcium, vitamin D and protein for many years.
How to combat this? It's a lifesyle choice. If you are determined to feel better and if your goal is to also lose weight then start trying these examples: First, drink more water. Water is the single most beneficial way to decrease inflammation immediately.
Switch to other forms of protein. Example: Pea protein, eggs, fish: salmon, tuna, shell fish; lean meats like chicken and turkey. Protein is what our bones need most to stay healthy. And use lemon juice instead of mayonnaise. Stay away from processed and fried foods. These increase inflammation exponentially. They are filled with lots of sodium, chemicals and hydrogenated oils that are so bad for us.
Supplements that fight inflammation:
Bromelain - an enzyme found in pineapples;
Vitamin C - extra doses of Vitamin C (1,000-1,500 mg's - max daily) aids in inflammation reduction;
Magnesium - especially for women - magnesium is essential to maintain healthy bone structure especially after menopause.
Turmeric - a great anti-inflamatory supplement or in powder form
