Fern House

Fern House We aim to take indigent, chronic drug and alcohol abusers off the streets and help them reintegrate into society. HOW IS FERN HOUSE DIFFERENT?

We take damaged lives and make them whole, reuniting broken families and guiding our clients toward a life of purpose. An alcohol or drug treatment program typically lasts a set number of days. After that, the addict is left alone in their recovery, with a good chance that they’ll return to an unsafe, unsupportive living situation. All the hard work they did to get sober is gone. The cycle starts all over again. Fern House breaks that cycle by teaching men how to live without drugs or alcohol. We encourage them to stay with us until they are ready to stand on their own two feet, no matter how long that might take. We teach them how to cope without the crutches of drugs and alcohol. We help them reintegrate into society. Our Goals:

Provide our clients with a program of recovery that gives them the tools which will enable them to live sober lives as productive members of our community. Consequently, these men, formerly social and economic burdens to our society, become responsible, tax-paying citizens. Maintain a structured and disciplined environment that teaches our clients personal accountability and responsibility, thus helping him to achieve his restorative potential. Help our residents to clean up the wreckage of their past and reunite with their families. Teach our clients the importance of remaining active in their own recovery by involving them in programs that help others and give back to the community.

230 Non-profits, including Fern House took part in a survey about the current state of the non-profit sector. We were surprised by some of the responses...

Almost half of nonprofits lack sufficient funds to deliver their programs and services.
Contributions from individuals decreased more than any other source of revenue.
More than three out of four organizations report difficulty recruiting senior leaders.
About two-thirds of nonprofits do not have a leadership mentoring program.

Fern House is not suffering from any of these problems. We are proud to report Fern House is thriving and constantly working to improve and expand delivery of our services. Our community steps up big time when we have a need and we are constantly preparing someone to step in if anything happens to someone on the team. While we cant say for sure why Fern House isn't experiencing the same issues other non-profits are having, we are certainly grateful for our community of supporters that ensure we do not have these problems; so if you are seeing this, THANK YOU!

Our 2025 State of the Nonprofit Sector Report explores challenges faced by nonprofit organizations and how they address these concerns in order to thrive.

For those that think it's totally random for us to have a beach clean-up event, this is our reasoning. By getting up in the morning and dragging trash off the beach we are driving home the recovery principles that will change our guys lives.

Please join is March 14, 2026- Kreusler Park @ Lake Worth Beach.

Wishing all our friends a safe and happy New Years celebration this evening.

Tonight is a night many will struggle with sobriety, pick a sober activity around other sober people to start the night, and your night will end how you expected.

Thanks to everyone that came out and made our holiday party extra special. Truly a magical night!

The therapeutic garden project is going very well. The Tangelo tree and the Meyer lemon bush will be a while before they fruit, but the tomatoes and peppers have taken off! Herbs are being utilized in the kitchen daily at this point.

It's beginning to look like the holidays are here.

A huge thank you to everyone that has pitched in for this year's toy drive. We still have need for some toys for two kids 10-12 range (one boy & one girl) and two infant children, one boy and one girl.

December 10 is this years drop off deadline so we can process everything for distribution. Thanks again so much! The love our community shows is inspirational.
