Some days leadership looks like a stage, a mic, and a “put together” version of me.
But most days… it looks like this. A hat. A t-shirt. No glam. Just me, showing up.
I used to think leaders were supposed to look a certain way - polished and always “on.” But the longer I do this, the more I realize: real leadership is mostly invisible. It’s internal. It’s quiet. It’s who you are when you’re tired. When you’re unsure.
When nobody’s clapping.
For me, leadership looks like…
✨ Doing my best to show up in whatever capacity I can that day
✨ Communicating clearly and with kindness
✨ Holding space when I can… and creating boundaries with compassion when I can’t
✨ Pulling up belief in myself when I’m not fully feeling it yet
✨ Coming at people and situations with a pure, open heart
✨ Not waiting to “hear things,” assume, or pre-judge
✨ Staying curious and choosing to assume the best in people (because I know how easy it is to assume the worst)
✨ Grit. Perseverance. Being the example I want to see, especially when it’s not easy
I’m sharing this as a reminder that showing up is enough. If you’ve been feeling like you don’t “look” like a leader… maybe this can help you too. Leadership isn’t a look. It’s a way of being.
What does leadership look like to you? 💛👇
