CASAT strives to improve substance abuse prevention and treatment services by helping states, organizations, agencies, and individuals apply evidence-based practices in the field.

The Nevada Health Equity and Loan Assistance ("HEAL") Program will be launching its 2026 application window next week!

The Nevada HEAL Program is a state funded student loan forgiveness program geared towards increasing and retaining healthcare professionals in Nevada.

To qualify, providers must be actively licensed, certified or registered in good standing in Nevada and willing to commit to providing healthcare services in rural or urban underserved communities in the state for at least five years of full-time clinical practice.

The total amount of student loan repayment can range from $15,000 to $120,000, depending on the type of provider.

Applications for the 2026 round of funding for the Nevada HEAL Program will be accepted from Monday, January 19, 2026, through Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

This on-demand training is designed for counseling professionals seeking a deeper understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and practical opportunities for prevention. Topics include diagnosis and misdiagnosis, neurodevelopmental and behavioral impacts, co-occurring conditions, and the social and structural factors that affect identification and care.

The course also explores evidence-informed prevention models, screening approaches, and the importance of trauma-informed, nonjudgmental care, with a focus on supporting individuals and families across diverse and underserved communities.

This brand new 20-hour self-paced training equips paraprofessionals with essential competencies in trauma-informed crisis response, ethical practice, and resilience-building strategies.

Through recorded video lectures, interactive activities, and reflective exercises, participants explore the foundational principles of Trauma Informed Care within sociocultural contexts, examine the psychological and emotional impacts of trauma including grief and compassion fatigue, and develop practical skills in motivational interviewing, de-escalation, and emergency communication.

This course includes 6 hours of ethics content and prepares paraprofessionals to respond effectively and compassionately to individuals experiencing trauma and crisis.

Join CASAT Learning for an in-person training on the ASAM Criteria 4th Edition, the most widely used framework for assessment, placement, and treatment planning for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

This 6-hour training will highlight key updates to the 4th Edition and provide practical guidance on applying the ASAM Continuum of Care, the six dimensions, level of care determination, risk rating, and updated transition and continued service criteria.
