Think of a peptide as a text message to your cells. A peptide is simply a short chain of amino acids. Because they are small, they act as signaling molecules that unlock specific cellular functions. BPC-157, for example, signals the body to initiate repair in damaged tissues. But how you take it matters just as much as what you take.

Walking maintains your baseline. It does not build your armor. The slides above introduce Sarcopenia: the age-related loss of muscle mass. Here is the mechanism most people miss: Muscle is metabolically expensive.

Your body is efficient. It does not want to waste energy maintaining tissue it doesn't use. If you only lift coffee cups and grocery bags, your body will dissolve the muscle mass capable of lifting anything heavier. It deletes what isn't being used to save energy. This is why "staying active" isn't enough. Gardening and walking provide movement, but they do not provide Mechanical Load.

To stop Sarcopenia, you must introduce a stimulus that is heavier than your daily life. This forces the body to adapt by protecting and building that tissue. We call this building Structural Integrity. It is the difference between just moving your body, and actually reinforcing it against the aging process.

We often treat clients who point to a throbbing headache or pain behind their eye, but the source is actually a "trigger point" in their Upper Trapezius.

Anatomy Lesson: This is called Referred Pain.
Your brain gets confused by overlapping nerve signals and perceives the pain in a completely different location than the injury.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) doesn't just rub where it hurts. We track the nerve signal back to the source to turn off the alarm. If you are rubbing your temples with no relief, you are likely treating the symptom, not the source.

I drink a gallon of water a day, so why am I still dehydrated? Renee hears this in the clinic almost every day. Here is the truth: Water does not equal Hydration. If you are drinking plain water all winter, you might actually be flushing your body out rather than hydrating it.

The Missing Link: Electrolytes (Minerals). Your cells work like a battery. They need an electrical charge to pull water inside the cell membrane. That charge comes from Sodium, Potassium, and Magnesium. Without minerals, the water just passes right through you (which is why you’re running to the bathroom every 20 minutes but still have dry skin and headaches).

Renee’s Winter Hydration Fix: Stop drinking "dead" water. Add a pinch of sea salt, a squeeze of lemon, or an electrolyte packet to your bottle. Give your water the electrical charge it needs to actually enter your cells.
