Ability Inclusion Services We deliver day and residential services to enrich the lives of people with disabilities by providing opportunities for independence and growth

For over 65 years, Ability Inclusion Services has been enriching the lives of people with disabilities by actively providing community opportunities for independence and individual growth. Our organization was founded in 1958 by a group of parents who saw the importance of educational and social opportunities for their children with disabilities. When public education for all children was mandated in 1975, our focus shifted to assisting adults with disabilities. Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, services grew to support a wider variety of needs. Residential Services were started to address the needs of individuals that needed support to live on their own, then additional day services were opened in the 90’s so participants could have community and sensory experiences. Transportation was later introduced in the 2000’s and has since expanded to a fleet of a dozen accessible vehicles to meet the diverse needs of the population we serve. Today our organization is one of Utah’s most vibrant disability communities, providing an invaluable resource for participants and their families.

So much gratitude to I Love Us Project for their incredible support! Last year, they donated LEGO sets to our Center and shared that once our new residential building was complete, they would love to continue supporting our work. Today, they made good on that promise with an amazing LEGO donation for the community room in our brand-new residential building.

These LEGOs are about so much more than play. They create opportunities for creativity, connection, problem solving, and shared experiences for the individuals who will soon call this building home. Having partners who follow through and celebrate milestones alongside us truly means the world.

Thank you, I Love Us Project, for your kindness, your heart, and for helping make this space feel welcoming and full of possibility from day one.

Join us on January 28th for our open house from 1 to 3 pm, with a ribbon cutting at 2 pm, and come see this beautiful new space in person.

We are so grateful to the Utah Grizzlies for hosting a sensory friendly game and for inviting Ability Inclusion Services to be part of the High Five Tunnel. It was an exciting and unforgettable day for the individuals we support.

Our folks loved cheering on the players, sharing high fives, and spending time with the team and their amazing mascot, Grizzbee 🐻 Experiences like this create moments of joy, connection, and inclusion that mean the world to our community.

We were honored to welcome Congressman Burgess Owens to Ability Inclusion Services for a tour of our Center and our new fully ADA compliant residential building.

Congressman Owens learned about our disability services, asked thoughtful questions, and took time to connect with our team and the individuals we support. Our folks especially enjoyed meeting him.

As part of his visit, our Art Department created a special painting that will be displayed in his office. We love knowing that the creativity, talent, and voices of the people we support will be seen and celebrated beyond our walls. Thank you, Congressman Owens and your team, for taking the time to visit, learn, and engage with our community and the importance of accessible housing and inclusive programs.

It’s Giving Tuesday! A day when generosity shines a little brighter.

During the holidays, your support matters even more because it helps ensure that our participants have the daily essentials they need, from food to hygiene supplies to program materials that brighten their daily experiences. Your year-end gifts keep our programs steady as we move into the new year and provide an opportunity for charitable tax benefits before the year closes.

Your Giving Tuesday gift fuels the heart of AIS programs, including Creative Arts, community outings, wellness classes, and the kind of support that brings joy, confidence, and connection to every day. When you give, you help build a community where everyone belongs and has the chance to grow.

Join us this Giving Tuesday by making a gift today. Your kindness creates real possibilities. Thank you for being a part of our mission!

Today, we are feeling extra grateful for the incredible people who make our mission shine. Thanksgiving reminds us how much stronger our communities become when everyone is welcomed, included, and valued. Adults with disabilities bring creativity, joy, honesty, and heart to everyday moments, and we are privileged to stand beside them in building a world where belonging is the standard.

Wishing you all a day filled with connection, gratitude, and the kind of kindness that lasts long after the holiday is over. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Ability Inclusion Services! 🧡🍁🦃

Our Story

The Center was founded in 1958 by a group of parents whose children had disabilities. Since then, the Work Activity Center has assisted adults with severe disabilities to increase their independence, overcome their isolation, and become integral parts of their communities. Throughout the 1970's and 1980's, residential and employment services were added to support a wider variety of the needs of adults with disabilities. Additional day locations were opened in the 1990's so that individuals with very significant disabilities could have community and sensory experiences. Today the Center is one of Utah's most vibrant work and training alternatives, providing an invaluable resource for over 170 participants and their families.
