Thyroid eye disease (TED) is a sight-threatening autoimmune condition often linked to hyperthyroidism, with symptoms such as dry eye, redness, swelling, diplopia, and proptosis. Previously reported with H05.89 (Other disorders of orbit), a code lacking specificity, TED can now be accurately identified using the new ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes effective Oct. 1, 2025.
