On November 7th in our Lavender Lane Memory Care Neighborhood, we embraced the warmth of National Hug a Bear Day! 🧸✨

It was a delightful day focused on the advantages of hugging: feeling warm, comforted, and loved. Each resident wore a heart letting visitors know their preferred comfort: a hug, a handshake, a smile... or even a piece of chocolate!

We also shared the fascinating history of the Teddy Bear, named after the 26th U.S. President, Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt. His act of sparing a bear's life during a 1902 hunting trip inspired the creation of the iconic toy!

Thanksgiving Fun at Grand Living! 🍁🦃

We had such a wonderful time recently with Betsy from the West Des Moines Public Library! She truly provided a cornucopia of Thanksgiving fun for our residents!

We smelled delightful spices, got hands-on with some memorable kitchen tools, and even had a blast singing and dancing! There was coloring, and most importantly, laughter!

A huge THANK YOU to Betsy for spending time with us and making our day so incredibly joyful! We cherish these special community moments.
