broad range of mental health care services, psychiatry and substance use disorder treatment including medication assisted treatment. The team members at UCS Healthcare find great personal reward in using their skills and life experiences to partner with patients to achieve optimum health. UCS Healthcare is based in West Des Moines, Iowa, with locations in Ankeny and Knoxville, as well as through medication units embedded with 11 treatment providers across Iowa. At UCS Healthcare, medication-assisted treatment is more than a prescription.

Patients come to our medication window to receive their medication directly as part of a structured, individualized treatment program. Visits are more frequent at the start of treatment and gradually decrease as progress is made, giving patients consistent support while building toward more flexibility over time.

MAT combines medication with counseling to address opioid and alcohol use disorder, and it has helped thousands of Iowans work toward long-term recovery.

Relapse prevention is part of the care plan.

Knowing your triggers, building a support network, and having a plan in place are some of the most important parts of staying well long term. Recovery is not always a straight line, and setbacks are a common part of the process for many people.

A setback is not a failure. It is information.

UCS Healthcare offers a Relapse Prevention Formal (RPF) Group for people who are ready to get back on track with structured support. This 4-week telehealth group meets on Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and is open to individuals who have previously completed at least a Level 1.0 Outpatient treatment episode. Clients may join at any time. The program costs $125, due prior to starting. Participation begins after completing an assessment to confirm it is the right fit.
