Our Business Development leadership team volunteered their time at Meals From the Heartland yesterday and boxed over 200 meals to support those experiencing hunger ahead of the holidays.

In 2024, Meals from the Heartland distributed more than 952,000 meals across Iowa. We know the positive impact nutritious food can have on overall health and wellbeing and are honored to have helped provide meals to those in need.

Our central Iowa Administrators gathered for a regional meeting and holiday party, enjoying a bit of team building and networking at Smash Park. These meetings - and fun - provide valuable time to align on goals, strategy and key quality care outcomes, while ensuring our leaders get some time to reset and refresh.

Care Initiatives continues to demonstrate a commitment to improving the health and quality of life for Iowans by supporting the transportation needs of residents. The state’s largest nonprofit operator of skilled nursing facilities has purchased new wheelchair-accessible vans for two additional skilled nursing facilities in eastern Iowa. The vans will provide greater access to care, improve community engagement, and provide peace of mind for resident families.

Together We Care: Recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Care Initiatives

Knowing the signs can help save lives. Some symptoms to watch for include:
✔️ A new lump in the breast or underarm
✔️ Changes in breast size, shape, or appearance
✔️ Unexplained pain in the breast or ni**le
✔️ Skin changes such as dimpling, redness, or thickening
✔️ Ni**le discharge other than breast milk

If you notice any of these changes, talk with your healthcare provider right away. Early detection is key to successful treatment.
