We’re dedicated to helping people with treatment-resistant depression, severe anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder and other mental health concerns. All ketamine infusions are administered by Dr. Alan Young, a highly respected physician with extensive experience administering ketamine. Dr. Young practiced anesthesiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City for several years and was on staff as an anesthesiologist for over 30 years at White Plains Hospital in Westchester County, New York. Dr. Young received his medical degree from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. His training in anesthesiology was completed at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Today, Dr. Young has retired from his full-time work in general anesthesia to focus on helping people with depression find relief. His decades of experience administering ketamine in a hospital setting allows him to safely treat depression sufferers with this medication — offering hope in what can feel like a hopeless situation. Ketamine was initially developed as an anesthetic; it received FDA approval for this use in 1970. In 2006, a landmark study on the use of ketamine in treating depression was published by the National Institute of Mental Health. The study revealed that a single intravenous dose of ketamine produced "robust and rapid antidepressant effects" within just a few hours. Ketamine works differently than standard depression medications (like Prozac, Zoloft and others) by stimulating connections between brain cells. As a result, people who haven’t found relief from standard medications often find significant relief from depression symptoms with ketamine.
